Despite their overlap in time, ancient "Adam" and ancient "Eve" probably didn't even live near each other, let alone mate.
It appears that the father of all men didn't know the mother of all women... the b^stard!

Some things never change.

...the team concluded that all males in their global sample shared a single male ancestor in Africa roughly 125,000 to 156,000 years ago.
A separate study in the same issue of the journal Science found that men shared a common ancestor between 180,000 and 200,000 years ago.
And in a study detailed in March in the American Journal of Human Genetics, Hammer's group showed that several men in Africa have unique, divergent Y chromosomes that trace back to an even more ancient man who lived between 237,000 and 581,000 years ago.
Um... sure. It's all clear to me now.

Yea, I know. I got the same feeling. But then I have a hard remembering what male thing I was doing last Tuesday.

Hey, I forgot about this until a minute ago. An excellent history of (wo)man from a genetice point of view.

Spencer Wells: The journey of man - A genetic odyssey. Where did homo sapiens originate from? How did we spread across the face of the earth?

If you like this kind of stuff, you will eat this up.

They had genetic "eve" tracked down a long time ago -- unfortunately it seems she may have gotten around a little bit since they seem to be having difficulties tracking down Adam. Sigh - conlcusion? Ancient man skipped on child care, too. Those Neanderthal wenches were pretty hot, I guess.

I have a feeling that we have a lot more to learn about this. But like in any new relationship, the discovery phase can be intriguing.

Well - the science behind finding Eve genetically was good - but then you have someone taking it public who went on to speculate about which planet she, or her mate, came from, and, well - the science kinda died there, I think. Not saying that it couldn't have been an alien union - just that I wish the science would have been put out to the public before the the "speculating" entity got it out there. LMAO.
