Why i posted a thread about relationship and it got deleted?

Its not politics, its not religion.

Why man..?

Could be a lot of reasons. You likely broke a rule. You're obviously not familiar with the rules because one of them is not to post asking why your thread was deleted.

Read all the "stickies" at the top of the main forum. Those rules apply to all the forums.

      Hi

      THanks.

      But i did read.

And the only rule i broke is by posting this but its because i really dont understand why?

I was just asking for some relationship advice which this section is an off topic section.

      So what is wrong?

I wasnt promoting any Relationship courses or whatever??

Man, im so down already and my post gets deleted.

1st step into this forum and its a negative one.

      sigh.

I read his post - it was a personal issue regarding a female friend and I don't recall any links nor asking to review anything.

I'd also be interested to know why it was deleted

I may of been thinking of the wrong person.
I know there was recently a post here about a dating site.

You would join a marketing forum full of strangers to get relationship advice? Or could it be Terra nailed it?

Those two images were two frown or mad smilies, I do believe they were frown smiles! I know because I double checked that. Seems my browser has been showing that same yellow box whenever somebody inserts a smilie in their post.

I am seeing a lot of these yellow boxes at the bottom of posts - from well respected warriors that play by the rules! This may be a browser problem on my end, but I have seen this for quite some time.

@Kay - There were no images that I saw (as explained to Terra). I do think there may be a language barrier though. IIRC, the op spelled friends as "frens", along with quite a few other spelling errors. Maybe that barrier caused him to join the wrong forum??? I agree, should have joined a dating site!

I'm still curious as to the reason for deleting that thread. It's no secret that I report a thread if I deem it goes against the forums rules/policies.

Sounds to me like a paradox.

Do you know what a paradox is?

    Jody,

Using smiley faces is a common cookie stuffing tactic. So are clear gif images so you never see them. You really have to look at the code to see where the image comes from to know if it's a WF smiley or one from elsewhere meant to fool people into thinking it's a WF smiley. To check, quote them, and then click the button to see the code and it will show where the image is hosted. If it's not here, 99% of the time will be a cookie stuffing attempt.

Thanks Dennis. I'm learning something new every day. The head head injury was worse than thought, but that's another story for another time. Simple things I knew are becoming very difficult to remember.

Upper right hand corner, farthest to the right. It's a square with the letter "A" on it twice. It's kind of like Wordpress, visual mode until you click the button, then HTML mode (only it's BBcode here).

Dennis, whenever I see this yellow box, is this an indication that they are cookie stuffing? The reason I ask is I've seen reputable warriors post and see that same yellow box at the end of their post....and yes, they have posted smilies.

I just thought it was a browser problem after a recent update.

I've been seeing the yellow boxes too. Haven't a clue.

Dennis, are you referring to the A/A blue box in the "Reply to Thread" area?
      The "switch editor mode?"

It only a possibility. Sometimes the forum's own smileys will do that in a quote post. I'm not sure what all the conditions are that cause it, but sometimes it's cookie stuffing, sometimes it's other things.

Yes Don, as Joe affirmed, that's the one. If there's only plain text you won't see any code, but if there's formatted text (bold, italic, etc.), or images or whatever, you'll see the BB code for it. If there's an image that goes offsite and the image doesn't show in the post, good chance it's cookie stuffing.

Guys thanks for the help trying to figure it out.

I honestly thought this thread will be deleted again.

          But yes, thanks.

Yes i know this is a marketing forum.
But i posted in a off topic section after all.
So i think there is nothing wrong.
(besides the point that its not a RS forum, which i agree but you never know some off topic advice you can get here, have been reading passively)

And i dont know what is cookie stuffing anyway, so i cant possibly be doing it. (if its something bad?)

And yes i was just stating my situation and open to comments or opinions.
          No links, no sites.

But thanks for your time guys.

What if you can see the images and they are an exact copies of the WF smilies but go to a site that are unrelated to smilies or icons.

I'd be suspicious! lol - There must be a reason they're using smileys from somewhere else if they look the same as the ones from here. Maybe that's my old security training coming out though.

A good while back I think it was announce the yellow box would appear when a post had images in it. Most are innocent images - but it calls attention to posts with the hidden and invisible images (cookies stuffers).
