Funny thing happened this morning.

A school girl was on her way to school
engrossed in her smartphone...

and...

she walked straight into a power pole! lol.

The makers will have to put a warning sign on them.

Best,
Ewen

What's even more fun is the cud chewers that walk out in front of moving vehicles while using them - then the ones who drive while operating them are a riot and a half. The whole cell phone movement should be dropped off - take the environmentally disastrous towers down - make people call from home again and unhook them from their 24/7 connections. Maybe people's heads would straighten out enough to actually make this country functional again.

My favorite will ALWAYS be the woman in the mall! I wish I had a URL for it. a woman was in a mall, lots of open space, relatively little traffic, and texting on her cell phone. She did a flip right into the fountain. It is fairly common in the US today, and I know some other countries do this, to have 1 or two fountains in the mall.

    OK, I mean like:

    OH MAN what an idiot!

Texting woman falls in fountain, files lawsuit | abc30.com

It took less than a few seconds. The guards could NOT have prevented it! There was no help they could really give, other than to maybe ask if she was OK *****AFTER THE FACT*****! And how far away were they? Likely over 60 feet, probably like 500 feet, and they could even have been thousands of miles away. So WHAT? They should call a nearby guard or info booth and have them abandon their post to ask a person after the fact? It wasn't like there was a delay, or she had problems, or some concussion. She obviously messed up, noticed too late, and recovered without much trouble at all.

This isn't even the video I was thinking of.

Texting and Walking is now illegal in New Jersey due to the fact that someone walked into someone else and injured them. The attorney for the victim went to the state to inquire what law was violated relating to smartphone distractions, the state said there were no laws for just walking. The attorney said that New Jersey was negligent (Meaning the attorney will try to get money from the state as well as the careless texter) for not having a law to protect people from such an event and with that, New Jersey enacted a " No Walking and Texting" law coming soon to a city near you.

Yes, I think using phones during walk on the road is a big reason for accidents.

The correct term is iZombie, l have lost count of how many times l have almost walked into someone, because they had their heads in one of these things.

Which is better winning at a stupid Angry Birds game, or walking into someone or getting hit by a car????

Or worse walking into an elderly person, who doesn't get this s***.

The video was hilarious, not sure whether she staged it to make a buck, but at least her Blackberry got turned off.

OK maybe they should have a walking license, and suspend yours! You couldn't move out of the way and let them get run over by a car or something?
