Internet Costs in Thailand

Sorry I had no idea where to post this, so move if needed.

So I live in Thailand and the internet is hell slow and unstable all the time, at some locations it does work properly but right now I don't live at such location.

A couple of months ago I bought a Dtac 3G aircard, runs quite fast at night, but during daytime it's a hell. I spend about 500 Thai baht in 5 days, so that's like 3000 baht/month = $100,-

Cause it was so slow I looked for another aircard, this time from TrueMove, the thing is damn fast, or at least fast enough to work without frustrations. However when I have to upload/download a lot or edit my network of sites then I spend 1000 Thai baht/day, that's freaking 25 euro/day, all together that comes down to me spending about 500 euro/month on internet to be able to work in a decent way.

Heck I could hire a fulltime VA for that.

Any suggestions for a cheaper alternative?

We did have a normal ADSL connection here but that think was also hell slow and unstable.

Probably best asking on thaivisa.com, in the pattaya forum or the computer forum.

I don't seem to have much trouble up in Chiang Mai,I use TOT about 1,000 baht pcm including land line calls, the wife pays it so I'm not sure on the exact price. Power failures in general especially during the rainy season, puts the electric out for a few hours on occassion but otherwise OK.

Will head over to Thaivisa yeah, perhaps there's another aircard available, I was at Tesco but Truemove was the only one they had. Still have Dtac so mostly in daytime I use truemove and night time Dtac as it's then quite doable.

Pull a cable from South-Korea back home to Thailand and hook you up on that one. Internet is almost free in SK, so you'll get high-speed Internet for pennies.

Go with a south Korean provider if possible and look for an account for a business rather than residential.

If you want the fastest internet with the most up time in that part of the world you have to get the same internet that a hotel or quality internet cafe is using even if you are the only one using it.

Costs will be $300 US + per month.

I have not been to Thailand in 5 yrs, but I was in Palawan Phillipines 3 months ago and there are a few IMers there and one of them told me this is what they do.
