Oh man - I bet that guy feels like crap. That's one that could give a person a guilt trip for life. So glad they have a family dog.

Of course he'll feel like crap. 5 months of abuse at that early stage in life could do a lot of damage. In all fairness they did do a background check on the babysitter before hiring her. Thankfully, their dog alerted them to the situation and they had enough wherewithal to respond to it.

Yep - they played it right. Unfortunately that might not be enough not to feel a twinge of guilt now and again for......well.....eternity.

When I was 15 months old, I found a bobby pin that had gotten dropped on the floor and somehow thought it was a good idea to cram it through my right ear. My mother was an immaculate housekeeper and it was really just a quirk that she didn't see it before I did. She winced visibly my entire life every time I said "pardon". That's just all in the life of a parent.
I told her several times not to sweat it. It's not like it's disabled me traumatically - I still function just fine. She still was never able to get past it completely.

So.......just was a statement made with a little empathy for the parents.

I was first thinking I would have got rid of the sitter based upon the dog's reaction.

But, I am glad they got hard evidence to convict her and help prevent her from doing this to others.
