Hello, my name is Patty and I am a new member here. I live here in Kent,WA, which is about 15 minutes outside of Seattle.

I am a data entry specialist and I run a small data entry business from my home.
I also have been "dabbling" in graphic design for the past 3 years. I really enjoy making graphics and layouts.

Thank you for those that welcomed me. Though, I have to say that I am a little put off now. Ok ok...so I "jazzed" up my intro. I really didn't think I would get 3 comments on how bad my font and color choice would be.
To be honest, it is quite saddening to join this group and get this in my first thread and an "intro" thread at that.
Maybe I'm a little too sensitive but it just didn't seem very nice to welcome me in one breath and well, insult my font and text choice the next.
I was truly hoping to find a wonderful new forum where members were helpful to me and I to them.
I guess I will just stick to my regular forum for web and graphic design.
I wish you all great success in work, life and love.

    (my evil side)Take Care!

    INSULT?
Creative isn't bad - your choice was just HARD on the eyes, like I said. That is the truth, not an insult or a review. It was hard to read. Why the defensive fuss?

I will watch it in the future but I couldn't resist. That shade of blue is my favorite color.

It is a nice color - wasn't the color that made it hard to read - it was the font. I used to have a font called "flintstone" that I really loved - even did resumes in it, so I know about favorites. Now I know about looking at a computer screen til my eyes are crossing. LOL.

Never mind her, Sal, she's been drinking that water in the Kent valley too long. It causes defensiveness. Or maybe she just lives too close to Auburn, I've heard that'll do it, too. Doctors call it the blue font flu, kinda like the regular flu, only it causes you to desire interesting fonts instead of making you sick to your stomach.

I hope you get well soon, Helayna!

Wow, Kent is about 15 minutes from Seattle? You must have one of those flying cars so you never get caught in traffic on the 167! Oooo, I want one of those, too!

Don't sweat it, Helayna, we're a bunch of characters here and we pile on from time to time, but it's all in good fun! Welcome to the WF!

Now...now....I was born and raised in Pismo Beach,CA. I moved to Kent a few years ago from Seattle and yep, Seattle is about 15 minutes from where I live. No flying cars are necessary to get there...silly....and...I will take that drink now and can you make it a Tequila shot?

Uh-oh, don't say you're from Pismo too loudly, Patty! Those umbrella-toting native Puget Sounders out there will be tempted to smack you with it, or at least make you pay when everyone goes to Ivars... Western Washington had some pretty reasonable real estate prices until 'the Californians' started moving up there. (Property in Washington State was a bargain to Californians who were used to the sky-high prices in their home state.)

Rich people (from California, natch) moved up there, bought perfectly good bungalows for the 'view property', tore them down and put up mega mansions, which drew the ire of the neighbors who had to look at something that didn't fit in with the rest of the neighborhood, not to mention their anger at their increased property taxes.

Well, shoot, I was going to buy you a drink but I can't find the drink icon here anymore. (It didn't come over from the old forum...that was before your time.)

That's a shame. I really liked being able to buy my friends a drink.

Oh, well, have some water. Its good for you (or at least that's what they want you to think!)
