The story...

Man, 40, finds 8ft crocodile hidden under his bed after it spent the entire night just inches from where he slept | Mail Online

For the English and the Australians among us, this is Guy Whittal, former Zimbabwean cricketer.

Well spotted, I didn't recognise him with that beard he's now wearing!

I had a big spider under my bed once and I checked for months. How the heck he'll sleep soundly tonight I'll never know.

When I go to the place where my parents were born, I find it really hard to go to sleep. There'd be around 10 lizards loitering on the ceiling and on the walls in every room. I freak out when I see a lizard! One fell on me when I was 8 and I've had terrible fear of lizards ever since. I'd take a spider over a lizard any day!

Most lizards are harmless! I would take a lizard over a spider anyday! They are easier to spot, and less likely to be a nuisance. They don't put webs every place! I got my porch repainted only like a month ago, and there are ALREADY webs!

Lizards are FAST! Spiders are slow and easier to kill. Lizard > Spider.

Spiders aren't quite that slow. If need be, they CAN run fast. BOTH prefer to just relax.

I'll trade you all your lizards for all of my spiders!

Lizards are cute and harmless. I've released lizards back into the wild twice and have had them follow me back and all around the yard. Once when I was a little girl and once a few years back when we visited the in-laws in Florida.

But I draw the line at crocs!, lol!

        Blooming heck. I'm not surprised!

Mind you, I prefer the look of a lizard to a spider. Having said that, if one had landed on me, I'd be the same as you.

There are very few poisonous lizards out there. I find them kinda cute and have no problem picking one up and petting it for awhile before releasing it again.

But "on" topic ---- how the hell does an 8 ft alligator get into the house at all without being noticed? That's just strange.

That's nothing. I have a long thick skinned creature with a big mouth in my bed every night. It's called "the wife". And as for lizards and spiders, well, she can spit her fair share of venom just like some of them. Needless to say I'm an insomniac.

They use the same entrance as a Mother-In-Law

      Ba dum bum!

      "Where's the cat?"

Maybe a child gate on the patio slider? Good grief!

It wasn't a croc. It's one of those really smart spiders from the other thread.

You can have my lizards and keep your spiders too. If you have puppies or toddlers send them over.

I draw my line at class Mammalia. There are some mammals I wouldn't want in my house like bats, whales and Michael Moore. But any other species is a strict no-no.
