My son put together two jigsaw puzzles then pointed to the pieces for a third puzzle and said, "You do this one, daddy."

Since he insisted, I obliged and put together the third puzzle. When I completed it, my son shouted, "Good job! You did it without any help from me!"
  • Hahaaaaaaaaaaaa. I was playing with my niece once who must have been five at the time. After she decided she had enough playing, she pointed at all the toys and said, "Now you clean this up!"

You're obviously encouraging him in a similar manner, which is great.

Might be an idea to keep a note of these little moments - come the teenage years you could be subject to an entirely different attitude!

That's so cute, hopefully you will remain his hero throughout all the years as he is growing up - watch out for those teenage years, they can be tough.

My youngest son was always fond of my cooking. What wasn't such a cute moment was when we were having dinner at my SIL's (and she's a pretty good cook herself) and he pipes up and says proudly "my mom is the best cook." This was only one of many episodes, out of the blue, where there was no warning he was going to say something at a rather inappropriate moment.

So, do enjoy the moments when he's not busy embarrassing you with something that comes out of his mouth you don't expect.
