Can you get scammed using escrow.com?

I am interested in selling a domain name to someone using escrow.com, but I'm not sure about escrow.com. I know they are very popular, but can you get scammed using them? For example, if I send the domain name to the buyer, and the buyer "rejects the transfer", what happens after this? The buyer will have my domain name, but he could easily say that he didn't receive it. Also, if he adds whois protection after doing this, it would make it even harder to prove this.

I would love some advice, especially from anyone who has used escrow.com to sell a domain name. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks

The whole point of escrow.com is to keep either party of getting scammed. Used properly, the buyer and seller avoid essentially all transaction-related risks.

And yes, I have used escrow.com to buy and sell for as much as $4k in one transaction. It is pretty idiot-proof.

That pretty much sums It up!

I have used them for very large transactions, always goes smooth. Just be smart, and follow all guidelines, don't venture off the site for transactions If asked, etc,.

I've used escrow.com as well, a number of times. It is a great service, designed to protect both sides in a business deal, and prevent anyone from scramming or getting scammed. One thing to be aware of is that, outside of the US, it may take a while for the escrow.com checks to be cleared, but they always clear.

Escrow itself is totally trustworthy, but there are situations where the buyer could scammed.

The seller sells a domain that does not belong to him. Sometimes, a third party may have access to the owner's CP with permission or through hacking. The transaction could then be subsequently reversed by the registrar days after the seller had already been paid.
