LOL - she must be related to one of my relatives, although only 2 made it to 110. Both had a nip now and again - don't think either smoked though. They did eat organic food.

This reminds me of a show I saw of some guy somewhere over 100 that was being interviewed. He attributed his longevity to "the fact I haven't died yet." LOL.

So, they must be related because they have practically nothing in common?

Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

I think "over 100" is really quite a bit of commonality.

Yeah, but this lady did it in style. Your family ate organic. Where's the fun in that? :p

They didn't have GMOs when they were alive. All of my 100 year and older relations died between the 80's and 90's. Now we have another group in their 90's so will just have to wait and see if we have another group coming up. Sure hope so. Hate to lose these people young.

Halcyon - exactly. Stress kills real fast. My family hasn't had a lot of problems generally. Always had enough money, marriages that were fairly stress free, good children (or none) - lived in the country with none of the noise, traffic, crowding - lots of friends and social outlets.

That's one thing I have to say has been good about having bad asthma as a kid. If I stressed out I ended up in the hospital, so I learned not to get upset, panicky, or stressed over small stuff - I rarely get overly stressed about even major catastrophes. The asthma made me pretty bio-feedback aware, and I learned to control it at a very young age. If I ever have problems due to emotions it will be my temper. I get pissed off pretty easily these days. Don't like being f***ed with at all. I'm quick to vent when I am though, LMAO. People think I'm an a** but I let go when I'm ticked off real fast so it doesn't sit inside and make me sick. I just remind people that at least it's honest and they don't have to wonder where I REALLY stand on an issue.

I think the real key to longevity is to minimize stress. Stress kills from within and can cause all manner of other life sucking disease.

This lady drank enough not to care, had no kids to worry about and smoked 'em when she had 'em. We should all be so carefree.

Even though you can't enjoy your life on 111 of age as you could when you was 25 years old kid but still you will not love to die. It clearly proofs you are still alive.

She still looks like she's got her sharps. This thing with people going completely mentally bankrupt in their old age is kinda new. There were always those that did go senile - but not as many as now. Young people today see it so often they think that old age automatically means feeble minded - and that's just not the case.

I'm not sure what's keeping this woman's body together (she looks pretty damned good for that age) - but the cigs probably helped her keep her mind in one piece (and no, that's not a joke - smokers don't get Alzheimers and other mind degenerating diseases near as often as non-smokers). The alcohol probably helps with the circulatory system and stress relief. I'm betting she's really active, too - and that makes one huge difference.

No she wouldn't. She turned 111 this year, so there's no chance for her to be 150
