Suggest Me a Bookmark Manager

So I have been in need of a good bookmark manager lately. I have amassed a collection of bookmarks and it's getting all too complicated and awkward in Chrome so I want one that is not built into any browsers but one that I can access from my desktop anytime.

I want it to have all the necessary features that you would need in something like this including the option to backup the files so I can save my bookmarks forever.

Remember - It needs to be proper software rather than a plugin through the browser.

    I'm also looking for a good bookmark manager. Currently testing LinkStash and Linkman.

    I like LinkStash best so far...

      That's aimed towards mobile users but it is also a browser extension which is what I don't want.

      I need something that can keep lots and lots of bookmarks for different uses but it needs to be software NOT an in-browser thing.
