    My mother ( the dead set against any drug type ) said to me a few months ago.

    I don't understand what everyone is up in arms about, just make it legal already.

    I said .... What ? I thought you are dead set against pot.

    Don't know if your serious or not, but my mother who is 89 ,has said they should make it legal before she passes on so she can try it.

    My mother wanted to try it about the year before she died, but she hates the laughing gas at the dentists, so I just never offered her any. My father was dead set against it until a year or two ago, and my sister told him to use some for his back...........he declined, but wasn't offended by the suggestion. That amazed me.

      My mom loved the stuff and always had it around. My dad played dumb about it.

      Anyway, she was always trying to get me to try it when I was a teen, but I declined, lol!

      Now isn't that just bass akwards!

    Funny the only thing better than pot is the laughing gas at the dentist - I have been 'under' it for hours at a stretch - and even have had surgery with that and novicane only. It is just plain heaven, especially since I can't stand anything the dentist does - but with nitrous, it just doesn't matter. (nitrous oxide is very dangerous if not provided with exactly the right amount of oxygen so don't try this at home).

    Wow - it is surprising how many 'older' people (your parents) are supportive of legalization -i wish i grew up in that kind of environment! Yet the statistics in the article state the opposite - and that is 'not surprising' the 'younger' people were the ones that really approved the most. I figure they are talking 20's.

    oh well to each his own...

      I think it is the munchie makers that are behind the push to legalize everywhere. If this push is for a real medical use, I have no problem someone getting it's medicinal effects, just like any other meds.

      Anyway, maybe we should all buy stock in the snack companies just in case it gets totally legalized?

        "munchies" is almost a stereotype - Not all pot gives you the munchies. People probably wouldn't know that unless they read through the more technical specs on a medical MJ site - or saw the 'menus' in the dispensaries. You can get specific specifications - as far as what characteristics each strain has. Makes you sleepy, makes you think, helps with pain, etc.

        Munchies are a good thing if you are a chemotherapy patient and have no appetite or someone who has some problem where they are losing weight from not eating -- so they would probably be helped by munchies if they ate decent food and skipped the poisonous junk food people associate with munchies.

        Really though if you are in a stash scarcity you don't want to eat because it will ruin your high (bring you down) and that is a good thing to remember if you are overdoing the munchie part (or running out of pot!) LOL.

        They even have some that doesn't get you high at all but just gives you the health benefits of the cannabinoids (I think they are called). Even medical doctors straight as an arrow are admitting that MJ has health benefits - beyond taking it for symptoms like insomnia, pain, etc etc.

    A major local lawyer here in Orlando has launched a Medical Mj crusade, and is making progress. The Stodgy Ol' Florida legislature is finally willing to review the scientific findings of Medical Mj , after Poo-pooing it earlier this year.

    Baby steps, Y'all.
