Can Someone PLEASE tell me . . .

OFF TOPIC

I have been coming up with this Memorial Day thing and I don't have a clue when that is. Is it soon, is it e holiday, is it something that people celebrate or just an excuse for marketing cheaper goods.

What's behind it? If its a holiday it must have great significance and I would very much like to know. Anyone . . .

Are you asking what Memorial Day is?

If so, it's an American holiday where we honor those who have died in service to our country.

Google's pretty good at answering these things as well....

Thanks Dave, but when is it. We also have a celebratory day called Anzac Day on April 25th for the same reason.

I never thought to Google it as I love asking questions of fellow warriors.

Memorial day is Monday the 25th. My kids have it off of school.

  Memorial Day was, until recently, on May 30th. They changed it to the last Monday in May so we could have a three day weekend.

  That was generous of them. We now have a public holiday on Melbourne Cup Day. Excuse. Its something to do with the unions picnic day. I mean hardly anyone works on that day anyway so it already was a Clayton's day off.

Here in the UK, it's also Spring Bank Holiday on May 25 - for no reason whatsoever, as far as I know

If I remember correctly 25 April was the day Australian and NZ troops landed at Gallipoli during the first world war.
