Landing that big deal!
I'm sure you all know it, you see a great opportunity a deal of a life time and you want to land it. But when you also understand that you are not the only person who is interested and the other party is surrounded by other people. To get close is almost impossible.
Still I had a change of a short talk and we exchanged contact details.
I decided to get in to action the next day and we agreed on a meeting in the following days.
The first meeting didn't go that well. There was no real interest from the other party and most of all they just came out of a long term cooperation that didn't ended that well. But because I did see some potential, I proposed to start working together without any strings attached, a kind of try before you buy.
After some months the trust started to develop and I almost overplayed my hand when I proposed a dedicated partnership. It took me until November 2012 to join forces on a dedicated level and start cooperating from one location.
Now one year later we are gone celebrate it, and all I have to do is to remember how to say "I do" in Russian and all will be fine on Wednesday.
