USA Today newspaper collection. What should I do with this?

I have a newspaper collection. It includes every issue of USA Today beginning approximately from one year prior to last November's presidential election all the way through the 100 days mark, including the special election issues and inauguration issues. All are complete and unopened/unread, in new condition.

My investment is, on average, a dollar per copy.

I'm wondering if anyone has ideas about how I can monetize this. Here are my ideas.

I can put them on eBay and sell them has an entire collection.

I can parcel them out on eBay individually.

I can cut them up and create collections of articles on certain subjects of interest, such as the Presidential campaign and election, Obama's first 100 days, the Iraq/Afghanistan war, the economic mess, etc. and move them on eBay.

Any other ideas or suggestions? Don't be afraid to get creative. No idea is too crazy (just don't post about using them in bird cages. I want to monetize them!)

Some dealers I know are preserving headlines within vinyl sheets and selling them as birthdate and anniversary gifts. With an embossed "certificate" of authenticity, he is getting $60 or more per newspaper. Historic dates can fetch up to 10 times more. You can always go to your local newspaper publisher and pick up hundreds of undelivered newspapers daily, or buy USA Today newspapers in bulk. It really is a very large niche market if marketed with a "vanity" appeal. Well-preserved historic newspapers can be sold for hundreds of dollars each. Same for magazines and "country of origin" newspapers.

You could make them into newspaper hats and set up a newspaper hat shop

Thanks for those suggestions. The vanity angle sounds good.

Valerie, I already tried making newspaper hats but when I use issues such as the special inaugural issue, with all the color pictures, people steal my hats. Sad.
