One of my favorite sub-genre's of metal is a genre called Metalcore. We got any fans here on the Warrior Forum?

Metalcore Bands would be bands like Parkway Drive, August Burns Red, Of Mice & Men, and As I Lay Dying etc.

For those of you who might be interested I run a fan site, I made a really long extensive list of metalcore bands and near over 1300 music videos have been added to my site.

What are some of your favorite metalcore bands?

It is the first time I ever even came across the term "metalcore". I don't even like biting into apple cores.

I came across this number, but didn't get to listen to much of it because my 3-year-old son said, "Too loud! Put on Beethoven's 6th Symphony." The younger generation, what can you do.

Cage of the Gods, FFDP - oh yeah. I like it.
Love Godsmack, Korn, Saliva, Uno, Disturbed, etc, too - but not sure if you call them metalcore or not. I'm old so not kewl enough anymore to always know what the hell's going on. I do know I like to rock and I like to rock hard. I have well earned my nickname "Grandma Mosh". LMAO.

It's never too loud. I'll never be too old.

I'd say these bands would be best classified as "nu-metal" or "rock" this is the type of stuff I grew up on. I was listening to the first Godsmack album in 8th grade

8th grade, new Godsmack? Holy cow - was I that young EVER? Oh yeah - I remember 8th grade rock now. The Woodstock crowd. Severely awesome time in society - and life in general.

As far as metalcore -- ya wanna know what it sounds like to me? It sounds like 80's rock with a "nu-metal" tweak to it. I mean really. Cage of Gods sounds a lot like Slaughter 2000's, for example - and a lot of the beat I hear in the genre...wait....isn't that Metallica? Take the lead singer out of Avenged Sevenfold and put Mustain in and you have Megadeth. LMAO. FFDP - Bad Company, Sorry, sometimes the change is just too subtle to even notice. FFDP also has a sound so much like Disturbed it's hard for me to consider them different types of music. Really.

Now when you get down to Lamb of God or Molotov Solution and the like - the only difference really is the change of voice to more rage, more mechanics than melody and you can tell you've crossed the line into a different form of rock.

I don't care what the stuff is called.......if it's good rock, it's good rock. I reject the philosophy of many of my pals who also grew up in the Woodstock era and are a little prejudiced toward the first rock being the best. It was awesome because it was new, free, represented how we REALLY felt and had a beat we loved to move to...........it was good then.....it's good now, it's just evolved from what it was...but not that much really.
