I can't believe this happened to me today!

Back when I was married my now ex-wife used to tell me that I had no emotions, she would say it so often that I believed it myself.

Today I think that I proved her wrong when a tear rolled down my face, I don't think that I have cried in nearly 30 odd years back when I was a teenager but after watching this video, I had to wipe a tear from my face.

It is very sad that this poor guy doesn't even know how old he is.

Hard not to be happy for a guy like that. If that doesn't stir your emotions, check your pulse.

Funny how we react to someone like this. I was thinking not that it was sad - but how wonderful that lovely woman had found the brothers and taken them home and what a beautiful smile and voice he had.

As the music started I was hoping 'please let him be able to sing well' - and, oh my, he did!

I wasn't all that moved. Sorry. He has a voice and talent - I just didn't like it that well. Never did care for that song. Will have to reserve judgement until I hear him sing again. As far as his deformity - it's kewl that he can sing because he's all messed up. I'm not gonna sniffle over it. Life's hard for everyone in one way or another. It takes more than a disability here or there to move me to choke points.

Yep, l have to agree with Sal on this one, his disability is unimaginable, but that is the way it is!

I went through a nasty skin infection on my hands during the first half of this year, and that was a pretty horrible experience.

Probably the worst thing that l have gone through.

So l can't imagine his life, only get a taste of it.

Although the song didn't really move me to tears, probably because it wasn't directly related to his condition?

Maybe St-Emos Fire, would have been more appropriate?

I have to admit that the last thing l got teary about was the end of "The Life is Like a Box of chocolates movie" whatever it was called???

      Well, l got close!

The other reason was the stupid screaming teenagers, destroying the atmosphere! Groan!!!

It wasn't the disability - that is something that is what it is.

It was his smile (and he's quite handsome) and his voice I liked.

I don't have much patience for people (ya think?) but there are rare times when I see a glimpse of someone and think "I'd really like to know that person". He was one of those for me.

I agree that it wasn't the disability in itself but the entire story which moved me, that he and his brother were born in a war zone and were crippled and maimed.

While in the orphanage, an angel from the land down under came and swept him away from the terrible life and the only life that he had known, and cared for an nurtured both brothers with unconditional love.

Yeah, he didn't do that for me. I appreciate the difficulties he's been through, and he has a very happy ending to his story of trials and hardships - and he has a good voice, but I wasn't completely wowed. Now, Ryan Paige, of the X factor isn't as messed up but is a little bit deformed - but the difference there is that she literally wowed me in her audition. I think it's important for us to recognize achievement throughout hardship - but in a contest of the voice, I really want to see people concentrate on the voice and not just give a sympathy vote. This guy was good enough that the votes won't be sympathy votes after his first couple rounds. He'll make it or not on his voice alone eventually. Same with Miss Paige.

One thing that gets me to my choke point pretty quickly is witnessing courage.

          Good post Joseph.
