Frankly, I've never really thought much about my state of not being a turkey, but now that the subject as been breached - yes, yes - I AM rather thankful I am not a turkey.

    Everyone have a joyful holiday.

Yeah, a turkey is one animal I never saw anything in that I could envy. It is a pity that, outside of perhaps plants, things here survive by hurting others.

    Even VEGETARIANS eat plants.

OK, OK, so they simply give them an abortion. The plant may survive with only some bruises, but a "child" plant, or maybe THOUSANDS, never gets a chance to be "born".

Is the whole of America stuffing turkey down and feeling the affects of the booze yet?

I certainly hope so, don't let the side down. I always see Thanksgiving as a time to wish you lot a nice time and as man who likes a party, I hate to miss out so I'll be hoisting a glass or two to the likes of friends here.

I'd better drive home first though.

It's tragic what happens to vegetables. The cruelty is unbelievable.

Lovely creatures. Turkeys are even friends to themselves.

      Ray,

The good people of America are eating long deceased Turkeys.

As I said earlier in this thread, you like your vegetables alive and well.

Some day you and other vegetarians will wake up to the carnage and pain you cause.

Honestly, it's sickening. Ask Suzanne and Steve. They know.

I'm sure my wife has called me a turkey at some point in the past, although I can't remember a specific occasion. I'm not too concerned about it, but if she ever comes home with a 6 foot roasting pan I might have to think twice about it.

A man received a parrot for
his birthday. The parrot was fully grown,
with a bad attitude and worse vocabulary.
Every other word was an expletive. Those that
weren't expletives were, to say the least, rude.

The man tried hard to change the bird's attitude
and was constantly saying polite words, playing
soft music, anything he could think of to try and
set a good example. Nothing worked.
He yelled at the bird and the bird yelled back.

He shook the bird and the bird just got more
angry and more rude. Finally, in a moment of desperation,
the man put the parrot in the freezer.
For a few moments he heard the bird squawk
and kick and scream. Then suddenly there was
quiet. Not a sound for half a minute.
    The man was frightened
that he might have hurt the bird and
    quickly opened the freezer door.

The parrot calmly stepped out onto the man's
extended arm and said, "I believe I may have
offended you with my rude language and actions.
I will endeavor at once to correct my behavior.
I really am truly sorry and beg your forgiveness."
The man was astonished at the bird's change
in attitude and was about to ask what had made
such a dramatic change when the parrot continued,

"May I ask what the turkey did?"

yeah - i post that one a lot of years but this year all i could find was 'what did the chicken do' - and the copy i had always had (now lost) said 'turkey'.

so i had to change the word here. how can it be a thanksgiving joke if it's a chicken and not a turkey?

        i know - because it's a parrot joke!
