I'm a big fan of wine and I'm looking to try something new. I'm especially a big fan of port. There is a local company here in michigan that has a raspberry port it's by leelanau cellars it's one of my fav's but I like I said I want to try something new! It doesn't have to be port it can be anything red, white, blush you name it. I'm not a big fan of boxed wine It's just something you don't put in a box if catch my drift.

Any suggestions?

If you are in Michigan you can get Tosti Asti Spumante - the best brand out there (Italian).
And you are looking for something else? Holy Cow, I guess you are a Moo Uer instead of a Wolverine, eh?

I don't know what you've had or haven't - but sparkling is always a fav with me.

I sold wine for 5 years. I know more than anyone should and I never even got into the deep details of it with regions and stuff :p I like smooth reds like Shiraz and soft whites.

cj, get a job selling wine, you'll know than you ever want to. And maybe you'll break my record of broken bottles in the warehouse

I personally like zinfandels, both white and reds. I first encountered zinfandels 12 odd years ago. And if there's a good size Christmas budget I give zins to my friends. What I like about a red zinfandel is the very minimal tannin taste, and for a red, it is sweet. And the mild bouquet. White zinfandels are rose, and quite sweet, some would say very sweet.

I guess that's the reason, there's the opinion that zins are for ladies, or for wimps. But for a lazy afternoon with friends, this should be a good choice.
