The forum is loading very slow...

Pages on other domains load fine, cleared my history/cache, still loading very slow. It's like dialup on a slow day.

It's slower for me than it usually is.

I don't have a great connection though so it might just be that in my case.

Same. Even though I logged in, when I went to post on IE, it says I am not logged in.

Chrome keeps saying 'can't load data' - I have to keep refreshing the browser.

Misery loves company though and thanks that I can stop cursing Chrome.

True not happening anywhere else - major clue...

Well this type of behavior sometimes means we are headed for a fall - If we get locked out for a while - see you all back at the ranch...

    i will not hyper-ventilate, i will not hyper-ventilate, i will not hyper-ventilate.

Loading super slow for me, too. I have broadband, using FF.

It's just this site, all others are working normally. Hopefully not an omen of something bad.

Seems to me like 1 of 3 things:

    mySQL wait

    too many concurrent connections

    high disk IO wait

    ----

I did notice last night the DNS changed to SoftLayer, everything was inaccessible for a while, then 403/500 errors, then default cPanel page, then the site loaded.

(I could be wrong, but I don't believe seeing SoftLayer the list time I ran a DNS query because the site was inaccessible)

    ----

Perhaps a new server has been configured that needs some tweaking.

      Kingfish,

I don't know that they changed to a backup server, but that's possible. I could ask the Wizards, but I am loathe to mess with their time when they're busy.

There was some sort of hardware failure Friday morning. Beyond that, I just trust that Scott and Thomas will get things back to normal as quickly as they possibly can.

That said, yeah. It's been extremely slow all day. Given that it was fine after the hardware replacement yesterday, I suspect it will take some investigation to figure out which part of the re-activation is responsible for the problem.

Yea, those were just basic observations. I could be completely off & it seems to be doing better now. There's a million things that could have caused it.
