Wanted: Online Microenterprises for Thesis Interviews
Hello everyone! I've been a silent visitor of this forum for quite some time now, and haven't really been doing much yet with Internet marketing. It's great to see how much people help each other out and share valuable knowledge with no strings attached. In addition to knowledge, I think this forum is an important source of inspiration to many people like myself. Just seeing this kind of phenomenon exists is pushing the boundaries of reality, at least for me.
The reason I'm writing is the most common motive in the world: I need something. I'm a university student working on my thesis and since internet marketing is something that has interested me for a long time, my topic is about online microenterprises and virtual value chains in these enterprises. My intended method of gathering empirical data is through interviews with people who either run or work at these kind of firms. Online microenterprises refer to firms with 1-9 employees (outsourced workforce doesn't count) that sell digital goods or services with no physical stock.
If you fit the target group described above I would be more than happy to interview you on Skype for a period of 30-45 minutes (maximum). My thesis is mainly about three things: business models, organizational structure, and value creation processes (or value chain). You can stay anonymous in the interview and/or thesis if you wish. I am planning to record the interviews with Skype call recorder, so if you want to use the interview later for your own purposes that's perfectly ok for me.
I don't have a huge budget so I don't think I can really afford to pay anything for this, but I would also like the potential interviewees to win something by agreeing to do this, and not just use up the limited time of other people without giving back anything in return. I'm open to suggestions, but what I was thinking by now is that perhaps these interviews could be shared among all the participating interviewees, so that everyone participating can get access to many other interesting interviews, and some potential insights.
Please throw me a PM or write here if you're interested in participating, or if you have creative ideas about compensation, other than the shared pool of interviews. In the PM I'd like to know the name of the firm, what is does, and how big the enterprise is in terms of a) revenue b) employees.
