Merry Christmas my OT friends! I've missed you all again.

We got hit with two back to back ice storms and lost power and cable, but I woke up this morning to both restored! Yeah Baby!

I've got to run now as I've got to get busy, busy, busy! I've got to cook dinner for 16...well, after I go open my presents!

Merry Christmas
May it be the best you've had

I would have pretended it didn't come back and took everyone out to dinner. lol. Save myself a lot of work. Then, when we all returned from the restaurant, it's magically restored!

    Merry Christmas.

Yep, had the power go out, a day before the big event!

Probably updating something, so if Xmas day was hot, (and everyone put their air con, on) we wouldn't have an overtaxing on the system!

Went back on in a few hours, still getting over Xmas day! Phew!

Hope you have a good one Terra, and don't forget to read my Grinch, (Riffle) fable!

But this Christmas eve bed time story is more for adults!

Well, Merry Christmas since you are here.

I wonder if my Dad lost power, too, then. My sister is there from CA. She'd have a rough time without power in that kind of cold. Hope they have the fireplace primed and blazing.

Shane, we had a, in comparison to the second one, small ice storm that knocked out our power on Thursday night and before we were even restored with power (we got cable), a major one moved through overnight Saturday night (that fritzed the generator) and effected 5 counties and we lost cable again too. Some are not expected to be back on the grid until January 18th. That's why waking up to power and cable this morning was such a wonderful gift.

I'll try to get to your poem Shane, but I can only take a few minutes here and there to visit here today. But I will definitely look for it when time allows.

Thanks Sal, there's a strong possibility your Dad was hit, but I don't know how long he would have been out. Small pockets are being restored all of the time, but for Grand Blanc and Lapeer they're predicting it won't be until after the new year, Lapeer, my sister, not until the 18th!

Merry Christmas to you too girlfriend!

Hey, did you feel anything last night? I toasted you four times with each glass of Asti I drank with hubby and my brother Tony, and my son in front of the fire and no Christmas lights on the tree. Hopefully you got toasted or at least toasty with all of those toasts.

Just talked to my Dad, Terra - guess you got the worst of it. Hope your Christmas dinner was joyful. Waiting to hear from my niece about who all on her dad's side of the family started the brawl this get-together. LMAO.

      How long was he out?

Or was he one of the lucky ones who didn't lose it at all? My mother-in-law who only lives 3 miles away didn't lose it, she only got a flicker!

Anyway, she was going to my brother-in-law's for dinner and her house was my back up plan in case we didn't get power back. I was going to cook it over there and bring it back here.

Thank goodness I didn't have to utilize plan B!

Well, I can't think of a better gentleman that should be so lucky. I'm glad he was spared that inconvenience, nuisance and frustration during the Christmas season.

From what I'm seeing around - there's a lot of downed power back there right now. Some areas not fixed yet. Kind of a bad time of year for that, you are right - but name a good time for power to be out. LOL.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. At one point, NO businesses in Lake Orion had power. Those that had back up generators did okay, but those that didn't were screwed.

Ha! Nope, can't think of a good time to have a power outage, except, well, if I was out of town on vacation.

But at Christmas time, it sucks for sure.
