McDonald's Ditches Worker Advice Website Due To 'Unwarranted Scrutiny'

The "news" is a couple weeks old - and I don't understand the point.

MickeyD's had a site FOR employees that encourage "healthy eating". Outsiders (not employees) picked up on the silliness of advising healthy diets to people who sell unhealthy food. It was a funny story.

The fuss over this comes under the heading of "how petty can you get?"

I work for a company that encourages employees to stop smoking - but allows customers to smoke on the premises. Go figure.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

Another way of seeing your company policy... some people prefer choice (even if a bad one) to a dictatorship.

Just another way of saying don't force other peoples limitations on me... I have enough of my own.

McDonalds' online outreach to its workforce has brought notoriety to the fast food giant more than once in 2014
Maybe instead of think progress, they should just think.

That right there. The site was for employees. Just goes to show when outsiders cause it to close, that there are way to many people out there that will stick their faces in other peoples business.

    I love this...

The budget recommendations accidentally prove McDonald's critics' point that the company pays too little for a full-time worker to live on, as ThinkProgress previously reported. It includes no allotment for heat or food or clothing, and features unrealistically low estimates for the costs of health care and rent.
Both the budgeting site and the broader advice at McResource underscore what activists and workers have been saying all year: fast food wages are unlivable and .... The industry's median wage is $8.69 per hour, well below the earnings threshold associated with poverty.
That is a LIE by OMISSION! They don't "ACCIDENTALLY PROVE" ANYTHING! It has been known and understood SINCE DAY ONE, that they were NOT for a CAREER! You want a CAREER? BUY A FRANCHISE! Of course, even some of THEM are struggling.

All you did was make it harder for the workers. Was there EVER a time when the average cook made enough to live on? Was there EVER a time when the average server, outside of tips, made enough?

Seriously, thinking like the article espouses will send all to the poor house. and I am not aware of any other country on the planet that has the same laws, taxes, licensing fees, and uses the dollar as a currency. To claim they can compare that is certainly WRONG.

And the article mentions "full time" but does NOT mention that full time has been cut by over 25%!!!!!!

    Advice from McDonald's employee website...

    - "Breaking food into pieces often results in eating less and still feeling full,"

    - "At least two vacations a year can cut heart attack risk by 50 percent."

    - "You may also want to consider returning some of your unopened purchases (gifts) that may not seem as appealing as they did."

    - "Selling some of your unwanted possessions on eBay or Craigslist could bring in some quick cash."

    And...

    There's also this stress-management tip:

"Quit Complaining: Stress hormone levels rise by 15 percent after ten minutes of complaining."
