    Showoff!

    Shane

But l have to admit l will be watching Sydney fireworks, Melbourne's fireworks are always a bit of a phizzer!

Well, l will try to, l have an analogue TV with digital tuner, (Melbourne's Analogue signals were turned off recently!

And eventhough l stripped and tightened all my connections, the signal is still dodgy for some stations!

So much for new tech, being better!

If you use a set-top box it may need retuning? I couldn't install an external antenna so bought Digital Indoor/Outdoor Antenna - Jaycar Electronics (no affiliate link)
      Now I get all stations!

hmmm, yep, l found today that 31, and Seven2, are perfect, but the rest stutter every few seconds!

ABC, is the worst, (others have said the same thing)!

Literally can't do anymore, tightened, scraped and reattached the aerial connects, as far as it will go!

My Mother has a LCD tv, and settop box, for recordings, and she still has the occasional start, stop problem!

I suppose that your solution is the cheapest, considering the cost of getting someone out. And l have heard stories of people getting someone out, to change the connections to some expensive gold plated things, and it did little!

Really P**** me off that l may miss the Sydney fireworks, because of this crap, but as said before Seven2, and 9 aren't bad!

Not a good way to start the new year, but l will look into your idea!

        Thanks.

        Enjoy the fireworks!

Thanks Shane! I bought a newer model TV and it seems to have helped my reception issues alot. Not all Flatscreen models are very expensive; I attached mine to the jumbo sized aerial, put the aerial high up on top of a cupboard, changed the position a few times and Whammo! My place is in a bad signal area but it fixed the issue nicely.
Aah those Sydney fireworks!! ... But Melbourne gets better sport!

Having attended a few of those while I was living in Sydney, I can attest to their spectacularness (spectacularicity?).

Getting home afterwards is a pain in the arse though. It's actually better to head to Kings Cross when they've finished, and stay there until dawn.

It works out well from Perth though. The midnight show happens at 9pm, so after the Sydney fireworks finish, there's plenty of time to fill oneself with <ahem> "good cheer", and then kick on to the NYE parties and shows over here.

Anyway, to all Warriors, I hope you get an abundance of what you need, along with a generous pile of what you want and plenty of good stuff along the journey we're all about take for the next 365 days.

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.

I think surviving Kings Cross on a New Year's Eve is more of a challenge actually!
If you stay at the InterContinental up from the Opera House, you can watch the show from the top floor then head down to your suite. Beats the crowds! It's not actually affordable of course, but the thought is nice!

Ha, ha! Cool pic! Wagga is a great place - much nicer than Sydney I think.

Yep, getting a new tv with tuner, seems to fix the issue, especially with an extra setop box for recordings!

Just annoying that they expect the masses to spend a grand on one of these things, to be able to watch what little there is left on TV!

I can see crime rates going up in AU, next year, because more and more people are getting cut off from decent entertainment, etc, through this crap, and everything going up!

Phew, l need to think happy thoughts! Martian rabbits, martian rabbits.......

I hope that it isn't S***, this year has been that most of the time!

I would rather have S*** loads of Cash!

Should finally happen in 2014, but l will hold my breath!

Yep, saw the curved one a few days ago, did,'t like it, the sides distort and disorientate!

I didn't catch the fireworks, (watched it later on online) l was too busy trying to stop a psychotic dog from getting into my Mothers yard!

The thing, (rock-bull, cross) realized it could bite or tear it's way through the fence, it wasn't aggressive, but a &*(% nuisance!

The neighbor is dealing with it today, after getting the police, etc!

So l spent new years eve, outside, with the mozzies gnawing away at me, trying to keep a nut dog from tearing the fence down!

Seems like the universe topped of the year from hell with this, maybe l should buy a tatts ticket?

Or go visit the nearest pub?

And before anyone says it, it went nuts an hour before the fireworks started, (buy the time the illegal fireworks went of, it was already knawing away at the wood).

Didn't give a s*** about that, just seeking attention!

No wonder people want to ban these things, when they want something, virtually nothing will stop them!

Anyway l have to calm down, and hope that this year is a good one????
