Considering how remote that island is, why should they be morally judged if they 'inbred' with their cousins? As for 'inbreeding' being a hillbilly thing, inbreeding is big with nobility in England and Europe (look up hemophilia in Queen Victoria's lineage) as well as the Egyptian pharaohs. I'm not advocating inbreeding. Just putting it into perspective.

Beautiful part of the world! The inbreeding was often counteracted when Polynesian bloodlines were mixed in.

No-one's judging them. It was posted for curiosity value and as an interesting read. The hillbilly reference was tongue-in-cheek. Sorry to have hit a nerve ending there Jed, or do you prefer being addressed as plain ole Mr Clampett?

It's impossible to be lonely with a 3 year old scuttling about your ankles all day.

Well that certainly sheds a different light on the old saying "keep it in the family".

Aloha, I hear you loud and clear. But have you asked your mother . . . or is that your sister?
