It's the end, take a shortcut and go home.

I love shortcuts. Keyboard shortcuts that is. It's all about small improvements in productivity that add cheer to your day.

The one I use the most lately is the "Home" button. Takes me straight to the top of the page (scrolling can be a drag). The "Home" button can also take you to the start of a line that you're typing on. The matching key to that is the "End" button which does the opposite.

One I only recently discovered was the power of "Alt + Arrow". By using the alt plus left and right arrow keys you can navigate your history back and forth in your browser but here's the thing; It seems to work on cache because man...it's certainly a lot faster than using the back and forward button. Try it.

Share your favourite keyboard shortcut.

Edit: I'm on XP (yes, I love it) and using FF 26.0 and IE8 - apparently the alt+arrow back/forward cached navigation shortcut doesn't work on all OS/Browser combinations.

I think that we all need to print this out and frame it above our workstation?

Although l am more of a throw my Laptop and see how far it goes, or skims across the lake, whatever comes first!

      He, he!

Shortcuts, eh, in XP load up, paint, and then press the SYSRQ key up the top or HOME key.

Then go to paint and press paste the image of whatever will appear there!

Great for e-books, etc, but watch out for copyrights!

I think you must have function lock enabled on your keyboard because you're probably pressing the "PrtScn" (print screen) function key.

The SysRq button is a mysterious button located on many keyboards, designed to confuse, confuddle, irritate and genuinely piss-off the user of the keyboard. No known use for it has yet been discovered, despite its presence on nearly every keyboard in the world.

Some say it has something to do with raising elephants being so utterly boring. However it has been known to cause such a thing as amusement when forcibly ripped off the keyboard, and super glued to your sleeping friend's forehead.

That sounded interesting, but it doesn't do anything with Firefox in Windows 8. What OS are you using? A lot of keyboard shortcuts only work on one of them, so it might be a good idea to include that info with the shortcut.

But I'm a fan of keyboard shortcuts too. I'll check back in case something good comes up

Good point, thanks for raising it. I edited my OP with my specs. I just tested in on both IE8 and FF 26.0 and it works fast and fine. Haven't tested it on my Mac yet.
