Hey Guys,

Just a quick post to ask if you are allowed to post affiliate links on your profile, like in the "visitor messages"?
Also is there anywhere else on here you are allowed to post affiliate links?

Thanks A LOT

Are you allowed to post affiliate links on your profile?
    That's a negative.

You can post affiliate links in your own Classified Ads with the appropriate disclosure.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

and while you are thinking, maybe read the rules so you don't break them and get banned.

I don't understand, what do you mean by "while your thinking"? and I asked this because the rules of all forums are basically the same and I didn't want to have to read through them just to find the answer to a question other people will already know, the equivalent of asking a friend on facebook rather than google! haha

You can either post affiliate links on your own site and put the site, not the affiliate links, in your signature or you can pay for a classified.

I noticed on your profile page it says the following...

Hey guys, do any of you want to know how those fiverr.com guys make their
          SUPER POPULAR Whiteboard Animation Videos?
Just send me a PM and I will send you the link!
There is a FREE 7 DAY TRIAL (with no credit card needed!)
If that is yours, then why don't you just send them to your site. If it's just something you're doing to help people, why not just post the link? Or if it isn't, are you PMing affiliate links to people that PM you for details?

I'm not accusing you but you have just admitted you didn't want to read the rules.

haha okay maybe I should read the rules! :/ am I not allowed to do that either? like it is a good product I use myself so I'm not just trying to rip people off but would I be right in saying now, the only way to do this "Warrior Forum Legal" is to 1. buy an ad space in your signature like the guy above or 2. I could send people to the YouTube video I have talking about the product?

Thanks a lot for the input guys!

It sounds like you're attempting creative ways of crossing the line. Use the little red triangle in your original post to report the thread and then ask the question. That will get a mod to come to the thread and give you a definitive answer.

EDIT: Never mind. I just did it for you.

Yes, I am. Better be safe than sorry. I have never read in the rules about the profiles, so a mod should answer that one and should also weigh in on the pm'ing your affiliate link thing.

No. Those are not the "right" ways.

Having been instructed to read the rules and having expressed a reluctance to do so, don't make even small mistakes. They will be treated as deliberate attempts to get around the rules, and responded to appropriately.

Do not put affiliate links in your profile.

Do not link to YouTube videos that promote affiliate links.

No, I did not copy and paste. I summarized. Most of that falls clearly into the "No advertising in the discussion sections" convention that applies on almost every forum.

I am one of the moderators, yes.
