Hello,

I've just made the jump to working on IM full-time. As part of my new daily routine I want to spend an hour every day reading relevant books.

I'm open to all topics, so I'll make the question rather broad: what books do you feel have made you a better marketer?

Thank you,
Gero

The books in the IM industry are almost always made redundant by the time they hit the market. This is partly so because of the developing time for a book to hit the market, as well as the ultra fast pace in which the technicalities of the internet marketing are changing.

That said, though no single book and completely fill in the details of being successful online, I'm sure you can get substantial amount of worthwhile knowledge from reading a handful of good internet marketing books.

Success is a Choice by Rick Pitino
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People Stephen R. Covey‎

Both are very good. I like to read books about people that have achieved success in any walk of life and look at their habits.

      Think and grow rich
      As a Man Thinketh
      The science of getting rich.

These are not IM but great books that I always read and re-read.

For IM related, you just have to read new strategies that get revelade every day in form forum posts and brief ebooks. Otherwise, internet marketing evolves very fast and a book revealed a year back may no longer be applicable.

I think the OP is asking for specific books for IMer? Why we have a lot of books about success?

Even not an IMer can read the suggested books above especially those written by basketball coaches.

To answer the OP directly, here are my recommendations.

Don’t Make Me Think by Steve Krug
    The Dip by Seth Godin
    Scientific Advertising by Claude Hopkins

While not specifically an IM book, the E-Myth Revisited is the business book I've gotten the most from.

It basically tells you how you need to create systems and employ people to follow those systems if you are ever going to scale and grow into the business you want to be.

It is such an easy read, very well written and you can probably get through it in an evening.

Hey I know you want book recommendation, but, your focus right now should be making highest and best use of your time. I'm not saying reading is bad, but, reading random books wont lock you in on your IM goal. What exactly are you trying to learn in IM? There will be enough books on your particular subject to last you ten lifetimes. If you going to have to master a skill you might as well key in on the books that will get you to the promise land.
Once, you get the basics then you can broaden your reading.
