Way too young and talented. I just read that awhile ago and was saddened by the news.

      Bloody Shame.

One of my favorite Villains of all time in his role in Mission: Impossible 3.

And also in "Big Lebowski" Another of my faves.

      RIP Phil.

He was a great actor, but I don't think he took well to adulation. He neighbors said that he was a down-to-earth regular guy which sort of supports my impression. He once befriended me on MySpace and I replied that I felt honored and that actors I know revere him as a master of the craft (which was true). He unfriended me soon after that.

He had so many projects in the works and an active family life with kids, I would be surprised if his passing away like that was intentional, but who knows.

I hate hearing news like this. It's so sad and so unnecessary.

      RIP Phil

One of the best actors of this generation. Unforgettable in Boogie Nights.

    Only idiots take drugs, though.

Well, as long as you're not judging...

It is kind of hard for people not to take drugs, when pharmaceuticals are even being pushed on children. I think whether someone takes drugs or not is largely a mater of luck. Did they have parents well-informed enough to say, "no" when school authorities tried to make their child take drugs, did they opt out of a doctor's prescriptions to Valium, etc. I guess I'm lucky in a weird way because I have such adverse reaction to drugs (eg Tylenol) that I have no desire to consume them because I don't associate their effects to pleasure, release from stress, or anything nice like that.

The only movie I ever saw him in was "Charlie Wilson's War." I thought he was
great in that. Of course having Aaron Sorkin write your lines doesn't hurt.

        RIP.

He had three young children and I do hope they will be okay. What a tragic way to die.

I also loved his earlier work in the movie Twister.

If you asked any film buff for a list of the ten greatest living actors, his name nearly always came up.

By the way, a morbid thought. Did you all notice that we still all agree that he is dead? That's kind of a first for this forum. We went a little off the rails...a tiny argument about drugs...but so far, nobody has said that it's a conspiracy.

Or that Obama had him killed. Or that he's living on another planet. Or that he was a robot from the future. Or that he never existed.

I'm kind of proud of you guys.

Of course, it's early in the week.

Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

The Warrior forum may be lagging on this conspiracy but there are others who are right on it:

" Illuminati Murdered Philip Seymour Hoffman"
