Learning how to touch type

I want to learn how to type faster. I am decently satisfied with my typing speed (I do use more than 2 fingers), but I want to get better and faster. I am worried that initially when I start typing with all fingers I will type much slower than I do now. For how long will my typing speed be impaired? How long does it take on average to get faster at typing?

    There are many good typing programs that teach you this skill. I used to type with two fingers until I learned to touch type in a few weeks using a program. I don't remember the name of the program I used, as it was at college and some years ago. Some programs have games that make the process more interesting.
