Guys... I'm nervous...

I'm about to take the plunge on valentines day and ask my love of my life to marry me.

I've already booked a few days to go to paris and i've also booked a fancy night out on valentines day.

I'm getting the jitters, it's a weird feeling!

Well I can understand the nerves but I do hope she says yes, you have a jolly nice time in Paris and I wish you all the best for what is hopefully a very successful marriage.

    Good for you.

I hope she doesn't spend too much time online and specifically does not visit the Warrior forum.

I'm very positive she'll be saying "Yes". Thank you.

She's not into the online world as such yet, apart from facebook.

Good stuff, you'll have to come back here and post some pictures from up the Eiffel Tower when you get back.

        Good luck Alex.

Common young man, are you 16?

Do you need me to whoop your ass before you become a full grown man?

    I hope that's encouraging.

    Back to reality:

Being nervous can be associated with different things.

    1. Do you really love her?
    2. Do you really want to spend the rest of your life with her?
    3. Are you afraid of responsibility?
    4. Do you have a stable source of income?
    5. Do you have a past or does she has a past or something that keeps bugging your mind?
    6. Are you being pressured into early marriage?
    E.t.c

If you can truly find the reason why you are nervous and see if it's something you can tackle before the marriage then you will be fine.

Nevertheless, it's like that for a lot of folks.

Far from being 16 John, add another 10 years,

      1 - Too right i do...
      2 - Oh yes...
      3 - No way..
4 - Oh yeah the internet does me proud...
      5 - Nope not a thing...
      6 - My own decision...

I think the nervs are just there's always that little chance of rejection, in the back of my mind.

      Alex

Dude relax. She'll probably be so excited she wouldn't hear or notice half of the things you say or do.
If you can get on one knee, do it....women go nuts over that.

Everything is going to be fine. Trust me.

Yep, I agree, relax. If there is love there, it's hard to screw this one up fatally. Even if you pull the biggest, stupidest stunt in the history of proposals, the most that will happen is she'll want to wait a little while and you'll redeem yourself just fine. Have fun, relax, love, laugh, and discover everything over there and it will be a memory you'll cherish forever.

As far as nervous -- name one life-changing thing you ever did that didn't include a tad bit of stomach tightening? It's normal, very common, and goes away real fast when the anticipation turns into a done-deal.

Well, as long as she is wealthy and good looking... or really, really old.

Seriously, congratulations and the best to you two. (Of course you'll be nervous
about one of the biggest things in life.)

Of course, I've been married for thirteen years, so I much enjoy the pain.

If you weren't nervous, you wouldn't be human. Any time you face a major change or decision in your life, the nerves will hit you. Use it as a positive sign that you're doing the right thing. Good luck and may you both be very happy together forever.

I can only give you the advice my dad gave me 12 years ago:

If ever in the course of your marriage you are ever proven to be absolutely, completely irrevocably correct........
    .....apologize immediately!

Hey, relax sir! If you're proposing in Paris, how can you miss?

    Regards,

By the gods, don't do it man!
You do realize that when you get married, you have to stay with her!?
For a really long time, too, because getting divorced is expensive!!

    Women think about getting married.
    Men think about being married.
A lot of men find that out the hard way!!

...But seriously, if you have found someone that makes
you laugh and smile, and you can stand to be around
each other that long, then I wish you all the happiness
    you can handle.
