A CEO has committed suicide by shooting himself multiple times with a nail gun, a coroner reported on Friday.

Richard Talley, 57, founder of American Title Services in Centennial, Colorado, was found dead in his home on Tuesday with up to eight wounds to the torso and head.

His company was being investigated by state insurance regulators at the time of Mr Talley's suicide.

A family member found the 57-year-old dead in his garage, the Denver Post reported.

Mr Talley has been married to his wife Cheryl since 1989. He moved to Colorado from Chicago where he was a regional finance officer for Drexel Burnham Lambert.

He attended the University of Miami and Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

    8 times with a nail gun?

That's not committed suicide. That's suicided.

      Lol

Suicide and death and stuff are awful. When I hear it was a banker, however, it kind of takes the sting out of the tragedy.

Yeah ... odd way to commit suicide, but if it's got to happen to anyone, might as well be a banker under investigation for something

Some IDIOTS may do it by accident. WHY do it for SUICIDE though? There are MANY far easier ways to go! Even one good gunshot into the brain, slitting ones wrist, or car exhaust!

Not a "DIY" book. This guy bought a "How To Kill Yourself For Dummies" book.

Shot himself 8 times with a nail gun?

            What an idiot.

It's kind of sad, though, that someone would reach that point.

Read another nail gun suicide attempt the other day where a guy shot himself in the head 12 times with a nail gun. It didn't kill him so the next day he went to the emergency and said he had a headache. He was too embarrassed to tell them why he had a headache, but they found out why when they did some x-rays. So he lived after all.

I guess he really "dodged a bullet", eh?

                I know, that's really bad.

At least this guy was fortunate enough to be able to live and (hopefully) receive some counseling.

I know that it's easy to make jokes about people that do stupid things. I've been guilty of more than my share. I just believe that life is a precious gift and to throw it away is a tragedy. Especially if it's about money, relationships, social status, addiction, etc. There are always alternatives.

                Just sayin'.

Next thing you know the NRA is going to be fighting legal battles over the right to own nail guns. Sheesh... :-)

More likely the construction workers union than the NRA on that one.

I doubt that these bankers are dying because of the possibility of suddenly going broke. If it's actually "suicides" it's probably due to fear of interment for life or from the guilt of what they've done to hundreds of millions of people. Somewhere, sometime, the kind of corruption they've been entrenched in gets just too deep and word gets out. People are realizing how badly banks have screwed us and some people are willing to tell the truth. That's dangerous for them if anyone suspects they're getting ready to sing -- and it's kinda bad for mental health to realize that scores of people have lost their whole lives because you helped someone get rich illegally. Once their friends and family start finding them disgusting, they're on a very steep cliff for mental stability.

I remember hearing my mom and Grandad talk once.....he was a self made millionaire who prospered during and after the depression. I remember him telling my mom not to be naive when she mentioned people killing themselves over losing money in the depression. Now I think I know what he meant by that.

Can I get a working definition of "banker"? Am I supposed to hate bankers and anyone associated with them like accountants, appraisers and title insurance providers or just the evil scum lenders?

I was listening to Clyde Lewis talk about the banker on His Ground Zero
      radio show.

The show is titled "Black Candlemass" which aired on 2-6-14.

You can catch his podcasts on Soundcloud, ITunes, and a few other places.

FOR THE RECORD! Accountants are a REQUIRED "evil" because of many business concerns, regulations, AND taxes! HOMES aren't often valued based on intrinsic worth AND, even when they are, it is often done via specialized references. AGAIN, A necessary "EVIL". Titles ARE, ESPECIALLY TODAY, done in a haphazard fashion, so some created title insurance! Basically they research the titles, and offer insurance that they didn't make a mistake.

But even on LOANS! WHY do you care if you don't have/want a home? What business is it of YOURS!?!?!?!? AND, if you DO want one, perhaps you are one that expects an ever increasing price. You KNOW that, given the averages, prices would be stagnant! SURE, today you might get like $90,000, MAYBE, but that is really NOTHING after you figure in inflation. Last I heard, the national average is like $300,000 for a home. WHY $210K more? MORTGAGES!!!!!!

But I have a HARD time believing that one would use a nail gun for suicide. And EIGHT TIMES!?!?!?

Banker? Isn't he head of title insurance company? That's a weird story.

Some dark humor surrounding reports of this story....calls to "ban nail guns" and about Colorado's gun laws.

Around here we call seven or eight wounds from a nail gun which results in death a “homicide”.
I hope he followed the instructions and wore eye protection...those things are dangerous.

It's the Mail Online. Poorly written articles. Terrible spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc. You can probably find writers on WF, pay a few bucks per article and get equal or higher quality content.
