Drone Spotted at the Scene of a Fatal Connecticut Crash and the FAA Is Investigating Why | TheBlaze.com

There are a slew of issues that need to be considered when it comes to drones.

I wonder why they kept called the scene of the accident a "crime" scene?

I gotta get back to work, but maybe the accident was related to a crime, or criminal
    drunk driving...

Awful if they got photos of the people who died and posted them somewhere and that's
    how family members found out.

One of the issues brought up that is most interesting to me is if journalists -
especially the tabloid types - start using these.

We live in a time where, if you can imagine it, than it's probably already happening.

      Not happy about it, either.

Yeah, I should have said if not already happening.

That whole deal with the Duchess of Cambridge smelled
really bad - and to think it could/will get worse.

It should not be illegal to shoot down drones in certain circumstances.

    'Drones'.

So the news report leads off with videos of Predator drones. Sensationalistic crap. The guy was flying an RC helicopter. It's not some ominous piece of equipment.

That's not to say there aren't safety issues - anything with an engine and rotating blades isn't something to pooh-pooh. But a DRONE -- <insert 'Flight of the Valkyries' soundtrack here - please.

If nothing else, the guy flying it should be beaten over the head with a two-by-four for flying something like that so close to people. That's not something responsible modelers do.

It seems that all over the news, RC planes and helicopters are
coming under the broader label of drone.

Good point you bring up about the danger.

Not only are the blades dangerous, I am wondering
if the driver was distracted by the RC copter.
