mrqe: "The Lego Movie" (2014) Movie Reviews

We didn't go a movie theater to watch, The Lego Movie. My son, 3 going on 4, is a big-time Lego aficionado but he's not ready to sit still for the duration of a movie. But with its astonishing number of rave reviews, especially by imdb standards, we'll definitely have to buy it to view it at home.

I just saw it with my 10-year-old son today.

He loved it, and I appreciated it for the overall level of sophistication and plot twists. I probably would have enjoyed it more, but I am suffering from a wicked case of jet lag and took a few catnaps during the first half.

I will tell you that the big twist is very cleverly pulled off, and well worth the experience. I am glad nobody ruined it for me.

I was surprised at the number of positive reviews. I'm just so glad I never have to sit through a movie made for kids anymore. I'd rather rip out my own fingernails rather than go through that torture again.

Luckily for me, I enjoy a lot of kids shows. I've even started writing kids stories and screenplays to entertain my son (and maybe to self-publish and produce down the road). We're actually making little Lego movies ourselves.

Did you look into Edward gorey?

He's a great storyteller for kids. Apparently his books ahve been selling like hot cakes.

Oh, I'm going to see the movie. I'm not taking my kids or grandkids. I mean I'm going to sit in a room full of kids and watch it myself. My grandkids are too mature for something like this.

But not me. I'm not kidding. I thought the Toy Story series was amazing.

FOX...sigh....who else is the villain going to be? A poor homeless vagabond?
Besides..Batman is rich.....and Superman is Powerful. See? The good guys are Rich and Powerful too. Man, get a life.

Fox is baffling. Businesses have been raking in a fortune selling anti-business products forever. They grew up on the same rock and roll just about everyone else in North American did. Why are they playing dumb?
