Lightbulb Can't PM, can't mail, can't post - wtf?

Hey all,

I'am relative new to the Warrior Forum and almost only here to take advantage of the great WSOs ... but recently I ran into a real problem:

You can't PM someone with below 15 Posts
You can't E-Mail someone with below 20 Posts
You can't Post in the WSO category with below 30 Posts

So how shall I make business with people offering the WSOs if they don't have any other contact possibility offered in their thread?

Why are there so many useless limits? I mean I don't like to browse forums and ask questions or answer questions I'am just here for the offers so I'am forced to spam useless **** and I don't think thats good for a nice forum like the warrior forum .

Well thats my second post, hope we have a nice conversation lol ...

Welcome to the forum, Stefan.

If I remember right, WSO seller were asked to provide contact details
for exactly this purpose but it seems many didn't take any notice.

As for the rules. They are in place for good reasons, to stop people
abusing and spamming the forum. If you decided to spam the forum
just to up your post count you'd certainly risk getting banned.

You'll either have to find another way to contact the sellers or contribute
to the forum. You could try posting a visitors message on the sellers
profile asking them for other means of contact. Just a suggestion.

Hi Stefan,

Those limits prevent people, among other things, from abusing the forum for spamming purposes by constantly re-registering and sending out private messages and emails to promote stuff.

Walking into a forum as a newbie and openly calling the management decisions "useless" perhaps isn't the most tactful approach. You refer to this as your second post, but your post-count in it currently shows as "1", so I'm guessing that an earlier post you made was deleted by the moderators? Don't be astonished if this one is, too. I hear your frustration, but you might also want to ask yourself why/how you have problems here that so many thousands of other people seems not to have encountered?

Hmm I didn't think about that but yeah I remember getting tons of such messages at DigitalPoint .

No no I won't just a metaphor. I'ts just about the question should I build links to raise my business (etc...) or contribute to the forums which does not help me to advance further? Thats my main problem with these limits .

Okay that was really not tactful - but hey :-) it's cool we are talking about that so I can understand the management decisions and maybe others have the same problem :-).

Yeah I've been here some time making business without any need to PM/Post and I would really like to see a Skype/MSN/ICQ/Mail contact possibility at every WSO :-(.

Lol, These are rulez
Thats it .

Hmm I don't think so, could it be that posts with only a few words don't count? It was just a lazy comment on some offtopic stuff.

I could be wrong, but I don't think posts in the test and off-topic forums are included in your post count. Otherwise people could just post a bunch of random junk in those two forums to inflate their post count and easily bypass the rules that keep new members from spamming the WSO forum and people's PM boxes.

This isn't DP.

Who says it doesn't help you? Threads from this forum are indexed by google almost immediately. A signature link here is a good link and a quick way to index new sites.

The WF is for participation - not just for shopping. PM's are for messages between members, not for spamming advertisements. Most WSO sellers give an email address in their thank you email but it's much smarter to participate in discussions in the main forum so that you have enough good posts to use all the features.

Otherwise, you do without those features. You have the same rules to follow as the other thousands of members here. And, no, posts in this section don't count...this is considered the "happy hour bar".

No, you could be right - I hadn't thought of that: thank you!

It only makes things difficult if you make it difficult. The majority
of new members find a way to get by without complaining about it.

Who benefits? The whole forum.

i can see the reason for no pms for sure and all of the above count, i have ran several large forums and i also implemented the pm restrictions to stop people joining and spamming my members but

i also made allowances for people who pmd me who were obviously genuine, i also gave my mods the power to do so for people who were clearly genuine

I dont get the no posting in certain threads though, ive also wrote out a long message to someone earlier only to find out i cant post on the thread, i cant pm or i cant email the OP...sucks

You sound like part of a conversation between illegal immigrants in the UK.

Immigrant 1 - I don't know why I came here. Can't rob. Can't rape. Can't defraud. Can't murder. Can't cause grievous bodily harm.

Immigrant 2 - Oh those rules are only for citizens. You can do any of those things and claim racial prejudice and restriction of your human rights if they try to charge you.

Fortunately the Warrior Forum is a little more adept at imposing sanctions for rule breakers.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.

I'm pretty sure the original intent of the WSO area was to give special benefits for those that are here to participate.

How do you make business with those offering WSOs? Read the rules for offerin a WSO and your question will be answered.

Why are there so many useless limits? there arent any.

There is always a contact email address given at the time of sale, most people use PayPal so you will get the email address they have given when you get a receipt from PayPal.

The reason you can't post in the WSO forum with less than 25 posts is to prevent some from creating fake accounts just so they can post on their own WSO to give it good "reviews" and make it seem "popular".

EASY, you DON'T!!!! There were too many IDIOTS that came here SIMPLY to try to spam the board. Too many were offering JUNK! And MOST didn't even realize the demographic represented in this forum.

Frankly, I think it is a GREAT idea! If people spam, they may be banned before any real damage can be done, etc...

HECK, if you are "forced to spam", maybe they should ban YOU!
