hi - as a longtime 30+ year jazz sax player, I thought it might be fun/cool to record a few top quality videos of me playing on youtube, for my customers (in a non-related niche, trading)...

any thoughts or ideas for how to relate music and why should they care, to a different niche? i thought it might be fun as a personality/branding type activity, for something unique...

thanks for any ideas... i like to combine hobby/fun stuff like music, to work/IM

Well a great reason is that it could go viral and give your channel a huge boost if it's good stuff.

you can try it- but in my experience, it doesn't work. People consume your "stuff" because they are interested in that particular topic. Not because they might want to learn about or hear about something else you do that is 1,000 miles away from why they originally came on board.

I have a wine making site. I have tried pitching various products to the list members and its pretty much a waste of time. But if I show them something about wine or wine making, they buy it.

In my IM circles, I have made it clear that I don't like to work, I play guitar and sing, and I hang out in tropical locations. There is an extremely small segment of my market that even pays attention to these distractions. I think they want what they need RIGHT NOW and that's about it.

Playing sax as an intro or outro on a video is one thing... playing sax for 3 minutes for a list of people interested in trading? Don't think it will do anything for you.
