A question for the moderators (flagged by me!)

hey.
I was just wondering if i would be able to post a thread offering free backlinks for article submissions on my new site, it would benefit both the warriors and myself but didnt want to get a ban, so am i allowed to do this? thanks!

after reading you cant flag threads to get moderators attention, i did not flag this post but hopefully someone can answer as I couldnt tell if it was okay by reading the rules!

    No it's NOT okay. This is not a promotions forum. You can put the link in your sig, as I see you already have. In a business forum, how long would it have any value to anyone if we were all posting links to our own freebies or specials? ESPECIALLY - in the OT forum where people come to get AWAY from this crap for awhile.

        This is NOT hate. It's logic. Get a grip. I was speaking straight, not hatefully. If you think this is hard love, wait til you make mistakes and get responses that are really hardcore. Sorry I didn't sugar coat it enough, but that's the facts jack.

        It's become so common these days for people to play the hate or hater card when they don't like something or when someone doesn't agree with them. It's actually a manipulation tactic to induce guilt. :rolleyes:

    Look, you have your sig file and paid promotional sub-forums in which you can advertise here. Use those resources.

      Gotta agree with Dan on this one. Sal's response was a long way from hate. Or even rude, for that matter.

      She could have pointed out that just asking this question gives the appearance of self-promotion and still have remained squarely in the "factual statements" category.

    While I'm not a real moderator, no you can't self promote in the discussion threads, but for what you're wanting to do, you could run a classified, or post in this thread

    Breaking the rules and complaining about someone pointing out why? That isn't hate. If you really want hate, I am sure that there are people who will happily dish it out in spades for you. If you don't like the rules, there's the door and if it hits you in the head, so be it.
