Is this a serious concern, or are we just running out of things to be offended about?

How in the world could a woman ever be considered "Bossy"?

When they get married, women take on the last name of the husband, because the man now owns them. It's in the Constitution....

As long as they stay in the kitchen, and do their job. There won't be a problem.

"What? No, Honey...I'm working on the computer....saying nice things about you, like always"

The reason there aren't more female leaders is because they were called bossy at some point in their lives?

This is silly and ironic on many levels.

Bossy could be replaced with another B word.

This is just too silly and thin-skinned and quite frankly, I am tired about someone's or anyone's feelings being "hurt" with every stupid thing they can come up with to get other people restricted according to their wishes. The actual amount of "hurt" is quite debatable-probably not even really there and the whole thing is schoolgirl childish.

What will happen to people when there are no obstacles to overcome and they all become complacent? That's when they really lose their power to think any problems through and actually come up with a good solution that benefits everyone. Banning the word bossy isn't it.

If I want to say someone is bossy, I will.

Those behind banning "bossy" are just trying to keep themselves in the news by annoying reasonable people so it goes viral.

        Oh hell yes.

I hate working for most women. They might have been able to rise in corporations, but they still have that damned tea party mentality. (and I'm not talking political tea party, I'm talking tea and crumpets). They also approach their departments like it's a freaking tot lot. For God's sake, tell me what you need the finished product/service to be, and when you need it by and STFU and leave me alone and let me do it. If I didn't know how to do my job, I wouldn't have applied for it. Good grief.

Men can get pushy, but at least most of them don't micro-manage. And they don't take it personally if you don't want to spend coffee time with them outside of work.

I always get the other B word, Chris. I've been called that enough times that I probably could use it as a legal DBA. Don't ever recall being called "bossy". Been called "yes maam" more than once though. Trust me on that one.

I don't know ... If some women are being “held back” in certain industries (business for example) because they're being equated with “bossy” then maybe it's a good idea.

I agree. There's a lot of women in office right now that should be sipping white zin and puffin' on fatties watchin' Ellen instead of playing "lookie mommy is in politics".

Lol. I guess you have to put yourself in the womens' shoes.

If you were called bossy growing up (because you wanted to go into politics or whatever) and it became a “limiting belief” then I guess you'd want bossy to be banned. Ultimately I think everyone should be free to be whatever they want to be.

Yeah, but they need to cowboy up a little bit. If you don't like what people are calling you, ya might wanna find a good way to stop being like that instead of shutting everyone up. That solves nadda. Saying "WAHHHHHHH you can't say that anymore" is not what I consider a mature way to handle the situation.

I'm all for women asserting themselves.

    Keep the campaign going.

Its better than being lead around by the nose by some a-hole guy into emotional and/or financial mediocrity or worse yet doom.

The world would be a much better place.
