I'm ready to be absolutely pulverised for this one, for being a little bit too '21st century' etc. But what the heck huh!?

This isn't some type of 'coming out' thread, you can save that for family Christmases etc. Just a bit of a naughty tease for the entertainment starved.
So Gals, which of the starlets do you find a wee bit interesting? Guys, Man Up and tell us about your secret lad liking. Of course, if your personal religious beliefs get in the way, feel free not to answer.

With my head on the chopping block, I shall start. I think that a young Sean Connery is very mildly appealing. See, didn't kill me! Your turn.

Go!!

(PS - I'm not about to become the first Bond boy anytime soon).

There are lots of dude celebs I think are cool but that's as far as it goes for me.

      I agree with with TL.

There are a lot of talented actresses and I enjoy their performances, but beyond that? Nothin'.

        I'm with TL and Terra.

Loads of good actors, good looking actors too. Again though that's as far as it goes for me.

Female actresses on the other hand, well, I probably don't even have time to begin the list.

I racked my brain for that but none appeared. It's magic shadows, you know. Like how movies projected on white walls don't much resemble white walls, the projected images and personas of celebrities often differ significantly from the actual person performing (often in unflattering ways, from what I've witnessed).

You mention Sean Connery. I once basically became enemies with someone who was friends with Sean Connery (not exactly name-dropping, I know, but that's what comes to mind). Connery is a great actor, charismatic presence, but he did apparently have to overcome an extended identity crisis related to playing James Bond for so long.

Not same sex, but I'm really liking Jennifer Lawrence these days. She seems to be a genuinely awesome individual on top of being such a gorgeous and talented actress.

You know, if you're trying to dis someone, it helps if you can spell and/or type properly.

Otherwise, the only one that looks a fool is you.

It's a rather silly subject. If you are not of that "persuasion" you don't have crushes on the same sex. You might admire their ability, their fashion sense, etc - but no crush involved.

If you are of that 'persuasion' - that's your business and I don't want to know about it.

Connery is a good 'un, but I can't be alone in thinking his appeal peaked after Bond. Fine wine and all that. I thought he was at his best around the time of The Russia House, The Hunt For Red October, etc.

My picks are mostly either dead or old.

    Oliver Reed was another.

Anthony Hopkins is strangely fascinating both for screen presence and what I've learned about him personally.

I was most recently captivated, if you want to call it that, by Idris Elba in Luther.

And understand this: there'll be political and economic sanctions if a bad word is uttered about my beloved Mark Knopfler.

Uh, not my thing at all, but I thought I'd mention that Sean Connery wore a toupee in every Bond film he played in. Actually, I just read that this morning. Strange coincidence.

I don't know if you would call it a crush, but I can listen to Carl Sagan's voice for hours. Part of it is his insight...and he has a way of making a subject fascinating..

Same with Listening to Dan Kennedy talk about marketing. It never gets old.

Actors? There are a few I love watching. Tom Cruise is always great as an actor. But I would never call it a crush. Maybe admiration for talent.

I have an old male friend that I love. It isn't romantic, but he means a lot to me. He may be 80 years old now, and the day he dies, I'll cry like a baby.

For some men, it's uncomfortable to talk like that.

Nobody's going to tell me Tom Cruise isn't as mad as a hatter, but then again, nor will they tell me his movies aren't intensely watchable. I reckon it's a safe bet that the people who most like to rant and rave about his crazy escapades are the most likely to indulge in secret, but ain't that just the way of things.

High time for a re-run of The Color of Money, me thinks.

I'm sure. These days, the ineluctable pull towards metrosexuality is just too strong for some men to resist. Given all that entails in the trouser department, I'm none too shocked they find it uncomfortable to talk.

        • I think there's an Australian talk show where the host often asks the celebrity guest: "Who would you turn gay for?"

I'm secure enough in my masculinity to openly say that Paul Rudd is a very dreamy-looking dude. (Yes, I'm jealous as hell.)
