    Zip cord?

That's what you pull when you're at 30,000 feet and falling fast. (What? That's rip cord? He's asking about zip codes?)

Dude, why do folks in Bangladesh and Pakistan try so hard to look like they're from the US or the UK? We don't care where you're from.

We DO care that you're trying to figure out a way to get around someone's TOS, though. That's not what this forum is for...

Yeah, paul is right. If you try, possibly in ANY way, to look like you are from the US, most places WILL ask you for a zip code. And some WILL check it. Some companies check it instantly, and some may take months.

You want to get around it? The simplest way is FORGET the proxies, and tell it your REAL address. You may find that zipcode isn't even shown!

    Steve,

You're right, but that wasn't the point I was making.

I know why someone from one of those countries might try to look like they were from the US when signing up for an affiliate system, as an example. Certain countries are home to very active sources of fraud, and are thus not accepted by some companies.

What I don't get is why they do it HERE. It's not like we block people based on where they live, and we're not exactly the most exclusionary group around.

Trouble is, you bag a name like Michael Worsham but you fail to get a gap between the first and last name. Now find me a Brit or an American that doesn't realise there's a gap between his first and last name.

      Well, don't try too hard.

Also, by 18, most people in the UK know exactly what a zip code is, and we call them something totally different, let alone the 'American' attempted in this case.

To get it wrong in such spectacular fashion, you just can't be a Michael Worsham.

Yeah, you made that clear. I just figured I didn't need to talk about that aspect. People might do it here to avoid a trail that someone may use later. It is SICK what governments are doing these days. I probably should have been doing that. I did test a popular method once, of hiding ones IP here, and it DID work. BTW I tried it on healthcare.g.o.v, and it DIDN'T! Go figure! I did such things with THAT site because the last time I visited a similar site, they signed me up for SPAM, and I didn't want to lose my insurance.
