Hi Peoples
I am feeling sort of desperate this a.m. I am hoping to find folks to visit with a little and maybe get some encouragement. I am so good at giving it out but not so good at reaching out for help.
Just a little background. I am a divorced, country lady living in one of the most inspirational places in Southern Oregon. I am so lucky just to get to live here. I was hurt on a job over 2 years ago so I started looking for ways to make money online. I found I really liked the idea of affiliate marketing. Write about some product and voila, money in the bank! Well, I think that is true in a sense, heck, I know it is. I have a buddy in S. Carolina that made her first 371.00 from a Squidoo Lens, I think 3 Ezine Articles, and a blogspot(google). She also has a mailing list of people that she has great repore with
So, here is what seems to be blocking me from the same sort of results. I go for a niche product but get sidetracked writing what I like to write best, humor. Humor writings don't appear to be high on the list of marketable niches. At least that is what I am seeing. I have 2 Squidoo lens now but really don't have much hope in any of my links being clicked on(I put up some DVDs like Old Johnny Carson, Dean Martin Roasts etc.) Folks that are writing serious articles are doing very well from where I'm sitting.
I just want to ask if there is anyone else around that needs to earn extra money(I know, who doesn't)but yet is drawn to writing on things that aren't marketable but that is where your "niche" or talent seems to lie? Sort of stinks when what you do best doesn't sell.
I don't want to flood this post, and I am new so don't want to pig right in. Any direction, advice, is welcome. I really just want to have a social life of some kind, even if it's just on forums. People to come in and have coffee with in the a.m. I spend 8-12 hours researching, reading tutorials, others blogs etc so I just don't have much one-on-one contact with people so here I am. I belong to one other forum, and this one now.

PS I know this sounds stupid because if people don't buy it from me, they will buy it anyway, but, I don't like selling much. I know it's only preselling but it still feels as if I am pressured to write about a product I care nothing about buying for myself.
