Natural remedy worked fast!

I've been into natural remedies for about 30 years and have cured every ailment I've had (nothing serious, but still...), but I've never had anything work as fast as it has this week.

I was working on the computer at night and felt what seemed like an electric shock in my left hand, that just exploded. Never had anything like it before. Needless to say, my hand ached with a really sharp pain.

Went to bed and when I got up my hand still throbbed and I couldn't hold anything in it. I figured it was a pinched nerve from the way it felt. I'd had carpal tunnel before (was a hygienist for 26 years - one of the hazards of the job!) and cured it myself with B vitamins after the doctor told me I needed surgery.

Well, I started taking a B complex and B6 every 4 hours. By the end of the day my hand was a little better, but when I got up the next day it had improved a lot. By the end of the day it was totally fine, like nothing happened.

So in less than 48 hours I went from a really bad condition to completely fine.

I've never had anything work that fast! I'm still taking the B vitamins, just not as many.

As a disclaimer, I'm not usually into mega doses of vitamins, but in this case I was desperate and it worked.

I had actually even thought of going to a doctor it hurt so bad, but then I thought about what would be done for a treatment, and realized I would be better off not going.

At any rate everything worked out.

For those of you that have never tried natural remedies, I suggest you at least look into them. Just realize that not every remedy will work for every person and you may have to try several different treatments before you find something that works for you.

Just wanted to share!

11 years ago I had back surgery to repair a couple disks that where crushing my spinal cord. After the surgery the Dr. said if it happened again the next surgery would mean metal bolts and plates.
I woke up one morning two years ago in as much pain as I was in before the surgery.
I started drinking a breakfast shake that had bananas and avocado's in it, but it didn't help.
One day in August of that year it was so hot my coconut oil had melted, so I added some to my shake. By the end of the day the pain had decreased by at least 25%. I continued adding the coconut oil and withing a week I was pain free again and have been ever since.

          Great story!
I've never tried coconut oil (unfortunately I don't like coconut), but have read quite a bit about it and it sounds like it's quite a superfood. Guess I'm really going to have to give it a try.

Then use coconut oil that isn't virgin. I don't care for the smell of coconut so I use organic coconut oil that isn't virgin -and I use it for a LOT of things. I live on sunshine and people yap continually about sunlight wrinkling skin. Well, it does if you burn - but if you aren't frying yourself and you're wrinkling it's because you don't have the right omega balance going on. Coconut oil fixes that - so get that organic oil and just get the type that isn't labeled "virgin" and you'll avoid the taste and smell.

As far as magnesium...... my legs get crampy if I get deficient. Besides the coconut oil I take a magnesium sup if I have to but like to do things via food when possible. I eat raw pumpkin seeds - around a quarter cup a day. They are full of other nutrients, too. Sunflower seeds are good, too, but not quite as nutrition packed as pumpkin.

You can mix it with coffee or tea.
The recipe above sounds good as well.

If you try bourbon, make sure it's the free range, organic kind.
            -------------
As for the heartburn. I've heard about that laying on your left side.

Seems to work. It has to do with the direction your intestines and stomach
are piped. Laying on your left helps keep the acid in your stomach.

Cider vinegar can be a cure for heartburn if your stomach acid is low.
Natural healers will tell you that if cider vinegar does not help, or makes it worse,
then you have the acid reflux or GIRD problem. many are mis-diagnosed in traditional
            medicine.

            --------------

Yes on the magnesium - and potassium - deficiency causing cramping or the mice
running sensation. Usually it's magnesium. Besides these electrolyte deficiency,
it's also a sign of dehydration. A teaspoon of sea salt per glass or two of water
works wonders. In my case, I occasionally take salt pills as well. (I got severely
dehydrated when I was about 13 and think I have an unusual sodium deficiency.)

            ---------------

I've also heard that calcium deficiency may be the cause of some migraines.
Or, at least that calcium helps with migraines.

After a FOURTH trip to the emergency room this year, I've finally convinced my wife to try it. She had a third epidural in her neck on Thursday and her head hurt so bad that she was in agony. I've been begging her to try the coconut oil and apple cider vinegar since I read your post a couple weeks ago, but she decided to go with the doctor's advice and get the epidural.

I'm glad she's finally open to trying the natural remedy options. We'll see how it goes. Hoping for the best.

I won't give you a guarantee it will work Joe, I can only say both have worked for me.
I also picked up an inversion table a couple years ago, but I couldn't use it until after I got the pain under control.
I had three epidurals before I opted for surgery, they didn't do anything but annoy me
Here's what I was drinking in my shakes when I started with the coconut oil.
            Milk
            Instant Breakfast
            1 Banana
            1/2 Avocado
            2 Tablespoons Honey
            4 Tablespoons+ melted coconut oil

I use organic coconut oil and honey from the supermarket.
I put all the ingredients in my blender and blended till smooth.
Also I eyeballed the honey and coconut oil.

I really hope it works for your wife, no one should go through that kind of pain. If it doesn't at the least she will be getting some good nutrition loaded with vitamins and minerals.

Oh, I know. I've asked a few others about this since I first read your post and have received positive feedback. I was chatting with my mail man yesterday and happened to mention it. He said that his wife went through the exact same thing and that although he hadn't heard of the coconut oil, he did swear by the apple cider vinegar. I bought a large bottle of "Bragg" brand as he recommended, along with a bottle of organic coconut oil and some honey.

The only thing I ask of her is that she try it for a few weeks and see what happens. I thought of trying it myself for my shoulder and carpal tunnel pain, but as expensive as that stuff is I think we're better off giving her first shot at it.

I'm just happy that she's finally been open to at least trying something new. These medical bills are really becoming ridiculous.

I appreciate you sharing your experience, Thom. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I suffer from all sorts of problems (too many to list here). I did fix a strange one a while back. Whenever I went to bed and tried to sleep I felt like I was having mice running up and down inside my mattress. I know this sounds very weird but it continued for a long time with no solution.
One day I happened to mention it to my masseur (He is a brilliant, natural guy) and he suggested that I may have a deficiency in magnesium and that it could actually be my muscles spasming as a a result.

I had nothing to lose so I got some decent magnesium capsules and after a few days, the "mice" stopped running. I continue to take magnesium to stop spasms and cramps and the "mice" have never come back.

So there you go...a weird story with a positive ending.

      I know that feeling
Every now and then I could see my calf muscles jumping and twitching. If it happened after I went to bed it did feel like a little critter scampering around.

EDIT: I found out with the coconut oil working for my back was the oil helps your body absorb calcium and magnesium.

I'm all for natural remedies, but how do you know you wouldn't have been fine after 48 hours without the B6? How do you know it was the B6 and not just your body healing itself?

Of course I don't know, but as bad as my hand was hurting I see no way it would have been fine within 48 hours had I done nothing about it.

    Heartburn.

I'm not sure where I heard or read it or if it's even true as I never looked into it because it worked every time, but the cure has something to do with the way your stomach is shaped.

When I lay on my left side, the heart burn goes away usually within a minute.

Something about when your standing upright, your stomach surface is larger therefore the bubbling gases in your stomach is greater than if laying on your left side.

It works every time for me but most people laugh and say I'm crazy. Who knows!
