I was checking out some Rap music, getting current, when my son grabs the mouse from me, says, "That's nasty, Daddy. Let's listen to this," then proceeded to put this video on instead:

    This Beethoven character... seems to be a very popular artist, (19M results on Google), and yet, absolutely no Facebook page, no Twitter feed, no LinkedIn profile, etc.... indeed, no social media presence at all. It'd seem to fit right into a great new WSO: Classical Success: How to Gain Friends, Plays and Sales, All Without an Internet Connection!

        Oh, well, I wasn't really enjoying it anyway. I was just trying to get myself up-to-date. My son didn't like that arrangement of the song at all, LOL, but did ask me to put on a more traditional arrangement.

    It could be that your son was exposed to it at his kindergarten. The last movement of Beethoven's Ninth was sung by my daughter's kindergarten choir in 2009. Here is a clip of Toreador in "Carmen" by Bizet in the same concert. It was a big joke as you can see. The music director was a wannabe opera singer who wanted to show off. The children were obviously very amused. I am sorry for the bad panning as I could not find my daughter in the video.
