Do keyboards have the copyright symbol on them?

Hi all,

Figured this would be the best place to post this thread.

Neither mine or my wife's computer has the copyright symbol on it - you know the one, a small c with a circle around it.

Do you have the copyright symbol on your keyboard or is it across the (key - just my little joke

) board that the copyright symbol is omitted from keyboards? If so why?

If you hold down "ALT" and type "0169" (without quotes) on your KEYPAD you will get the symbol.

You can also copy the symbol from Microsft Word in the 'Symbols' menu.

I found a nifty little site not long ago (not one of mine) and printed
out a little list of numerics for various symbols. See http://www.ehow.com/how_5015517_make...-keyboard.html

In XP ... go to

Start/programs/accessories/system tools/character map

all the characters you can eat

Usually all you have to do is open a Word .doc and enter :

( C )

and the computer will normally convert it into a copyright symbol for you.

Then just copy and paste that where ever you want it.

Cool....just tried this in OpenOffice Writer and it works fine too.

This works in Windows Vista too.....great stuff...cheers. Plus this is a great resource for sourcing characters from a multitude of world languages e.g Ā 亀 ﯞ �'

  Seems like you have received your answer, but here is one more resource for anyone who is still looking for copyright as well as other extended unicode character list. Found it extremely useful for any kid of weird symbols I couldn't find on my keyboard.
