I have a few.. Lord of the Rings movies, particularly Return of the King
and recently I do believe Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind has become a favorite. Shawshank Redemption is one of those movies that I can watch over and over again. So those are mine... Now tell me yours dammit! |

My favorite movie is "Prison Break", very classic, very thrill, very romantic, very exciting tv shows. I love to watch it every time if I have leisure time.
Of course, the "Lord of the Rings" and "Return of the king" are also very popular in movie history. Mass tv funs are like to enjoy them during spare time. Thanks, Raissa ! Have a nice day ! Aliensong |

If people ask my favourite food, or song or TV show I have to think about it - and am never 100% happy with my choice. I have a definite favourite movie though and suggest anyone who hasn't seen it (AND can handle sub-titles) go watch it ASAP:
City of God - Beautifully shot, incredible acting - heart wrenching. |

Good grief, to try to pick your favorite movie of all time is like trying to pick
the most beautiful woman who ever walked the planet. I mean, get real. I wouldn't even begin to try to pick my favorite out of respect to all those great movies that I love that I'd end up slighting. Here's a short list of movies that I like a lot. Let's leave it at that. Sci Fi War Of The Worlds (original) Forbidden Planet The Day The Earth Stood Still (Original) Gorgo The Incredible Shrinking Man Comedy The Time Of Their Lives It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World Arsenic And Old Lace Drama It's A Wonderful Life Dog Day Afternoon Mrs Miniver Sgt York Dead Poets Society Rocky Scrooge (Alistair Sim) One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest To Kill A Mockingbird Musicals Wizard Of Oz Sound Of Music Mary Poppins My Fair Lady Showboat (Paul Robeson) Adventure Raiders Of The Lost Ark Lord Of The Rings (All 3) The Dirty Dozen I'll stop there. I've already left out about 100 incredible movies that I'm going to kick myself for. Don't even try to have me pick one of those as a favorite. I'd sooner stand in front of a firing squad. There have been so many amazing movies in cinema history that it's almost mind boggling how much talent has come and gone in this world in just 82 years. (The Jazz Singer - 1927) Yes, I know, it wasn't really the first movie ever made but it's the first talkie (though not completely as some parts were dubbed in later. Long story, don't ask) Charlie Chaplin was doing so hilarious short silent films between 1914 and 1918 like "The Rink", "The Cure", "One AM" and others. I remember watching them on channel 13 (public TV) when I was a kid about 40 years ago. What's your favorite movie ever? You've got to be kidding me. |

![]() My own favourite would always be a Nicolas Roeg one. Either "Bad Timing" or "Don't Look Now" or "The Man Who Fell To Earth", perhaps. And I also strongly recommend "The French Lieutenant's Woman" movie, in the version with the Harold Pinter screenplay, directed by Karel Riesz (perhaps best and most interesting for those who've read the book first - which is quite unusual for a movie). | |

I'm going to take the easy way out and agree with most of what Steve says..
except I would need to add the original Planet Of The Apes - all of them and the cameo appearance of Chuck Heston in the remake - that was a hoot. Sgt York and To Hell & Back, both about real American Heroes. ![]() Too many great movies to really pick but thanks for the stroll down memory lane. |
