Before I die I want to...

I once made a list of 50 things I wanted to do before I died. I think I've finished 15 of them if I remember correctly.

Just a few of the items on the list that have been done:

Visit Spain
Stand on the Rock of Gibraltar
Adopt a shelter pet (2 of them now..!)
Plant a tree (or several)
See the Grand Canyon
Watch a Christ in the Manger flower bloom (not sure what the real name for these are...they only bloom once every 7 years)
Visit Yellowstone and watch Old Faithful
Go on a crosscountry road trip (did it twice!)
Visit Niagara Falls

Yeah.. most of it is travel stuff..

There is nothing that I want to do before I die. If I were to create such an innane list of things the only thing that would happen when I die is that I would regret the things that I was unable to get around to doing. I would rather do things to live and approach my goals from the oppposite direction. This way I have no regrets, and I suffer precious little because I missed out on something.

I remember my far right commie hating brother asking me about 20 years ago "What would you do if the Soviet Union launched a nuclear missile attack against the US?"   I would love to go around the world and see places like Dubai where the Arab world is a free city! Visit Hongkong where pirated and original clothing and cds are a fad and the food is definitely full of MSG (makes for quicker death). Also, Hawaii where the waves are rough and the volcanoes are definitely alive. Nature is definitely busy in that island. Ibiza, european center for hedonism and great club music. And before 2012 even takes me for some astrological phenomena and throws me back to the stone age, I would rather get stuck and be lost in the Bermuda Triangle.

Two things:

Reaching Mount Everest base camp.

Travel to the International Space Station and spend some time there with the crew performing some useful tasks. Even cleaning and putting equipment back in place would not bother me.

Virgin Galactic is for wannabes. I want the real thing flying up and down in a Soyuz.

As to the 2012 hype I think 2012 will be no different from now.
