I forgot about those and I did have one as a kid! Yeah, kinda the same, but a tad more expensive.

I had a call last evening from a neighbor. He is coming up tomorrow to open up his cottage for the season. We always kayak together. I'm going to show him this to see if he would also be interested in getting one. Much more fun with two!

That is unusual, but I think I'd prefer a water bike.

I'd be curious to see who would win a race between these two.

Wow! Reminds me of an aquatic HealthRider:

Yes, that was from the official infomercial (mid 1990s?)

    Ah, memories.....

It looks like fun but I think it would get old...fast. It's one of those toys I'd love to try but wouldn't buy for myself.

From what I see you can't really mount it from the water and doesn't seem to remain stable if you stop to rest for a moment. Is that correct? It seemed in the videos anyone who stopped jumping was sinking fast.

One of the best workouts I've had was my first time on a sailboard....but once I was able to use it properly I love it. Paddleboard is the same - you can move quickly across the water but have a rest platform when you want it, too.

Kay, after the winter we've had, at least six months of it, I would welcome a new water play toy! I never did replace my jet ski, but I still may.....but there's no "exercise" per say required to operate one.

Yes, you are correct. Once you stop, you sink! There's always quite a few pontoon boats out on any given day, so I sure I could board ship to start anew if need be.

I took up windsurfing, when I lived on Clear Lake in the early 70's. Now, that was challenging. Weighing about 98 lbs, soaking wet, at the time and trying to maneuver the sail when an unexpected high wind hit was a tad difficult as I didn't have the strength required to pull the damn sail out of the water on a windy day. I stayed with it for about eight years and loved it.

My catamaran was great, more of a platform on that one, plus you could drink beer at the same time:p

There's one problem I see with any "water" toy. When you fall you are in water. COLD water. If those lakes were a bit warmer, then they'd be fun, but until someone gets some serious "global warming" into those lakes, I think I'll just stay in the boat, thanks.

Sal, the Great Lakes stay nice and cool in the summer, but the smaller lakes actually become too warm in the summer, making it feel like bath water.

I'm still starring at ice right now. A bit of open water, but not much. The ice is dark, so am hoping it will leave this week.

I can't have enough water toys, cause when it warms up, I wanna have fun on the water

I LIKE the warmer lakes, Jody. My uncle lived on one of the lakes that was fairly warm water until you got out toward the center and to me, that's perfect.

Looks really cool. Found it... it's Czech. The website is water-bird (dot) eu. It's even on amazon - aqua skipper. $500 and not good reviews overall - 'cheaply made and overpriced.'

Too bad, looks like it might have really caught on! :p

Same with pogo sticks and all land toys.

When you fall on land, you're on the land. HARD land.
