Quick question on domain name refunds
I sent in a refund request. They confirmed the request with the usual automated response, saying someone would contact me within 24 hours.
Technically, they can deny the request. It's a courtesy. If it's within 72 hours, it's usually granted.
I probably thought this would be no problem. I spend a lot there, and the request was made within 24 hours of purchase. But I didn't think about it until yesterday. I realized they never responded.
I checked the ticket number online, and it was not there.
Last night, I got on the 'ol chat service and asked the status. Longer than usual delay. I believe they realized they lost it, or forgot about it. They finally respond that it will be "processed" soon.
3 hours ago I got an email. Denied. They said "We have contacted Verisign registry to request cancellation of your domain name but unfortunately the registry refused to revoke the domain name and refund the payment."
It's only 10 bucks or whatever. My question: in your view is that a legitimate story on their part (Verisign), or as I believe, does it look like I got overlooked in the system, and they are using Verisign as an excuse?
