As entrepreneurs, we're often desk-bound.

What's your favorite way to stay relatively active?

I have a hugely messed up ankle/knee, so I try to get to the gym every morning for aquajogging. I used to walk 'way more with a cane but overdid it a weee bit..... and now my Achilles tendon feels like it wants to implode. Wah.

So what have you found helpful?

When I'm at my desk, my usual method of moving is getting up and going to the kitchen to make a coffee.

I let my six month old Pit Bull drag me around like a rag doll twice a day while I clutch my freakin' pacemaker.

Does it really matter how you die???

Yes I find that sitting in front of my computer for too long makes me stiff and inflexible. I try to get up and move, do a quick chore around the house, go out to get some fresh air, do some stretching, etc. I just know that moving some will make me feel better, than back to work!

I try to take a 30-45 minute bike ride when possible. I'm not so fond of the indoor exercise bike that we have...the real thing is much better for me.

I also do some sports on the XBOX Kinect when I am am feeling the need to get some more intense exercising in. Crashed Ice, Skiing, Table Tennis and Field Goal Kicking are what I have been "playing" lately. I like the boxing too...but that gets pretty intense rather quickly. Just 15-30 minutes on many of these game will get your blood flowing...any more than that and you may be getting sore.

    Cheers!

I love to dance my way around everywhere, haha! I always have music playing in the background of my thought processes in my mind.

It can be quite embarrassing though. Just last week at work, I went to do an override on a register and apparently was dancing my way over. I suddenly gave pause and realized it when three old men started clapping at me.

I usually scoot around on my office chair. I don't want to blow out my ACL by making any sudden moves.

I took up bicycling in July of 2012. I've ridden about 1,300 miles since then. That's pretty good considering the weather we get. I usually ride 8-10 miles a day, weather permitting. I've gone as far as 15 miles in a day, but that's about all the sitting on a bicycle seat my rear end can take in one go.

Moving isn't difficult for me at all. I dance if I hear music that makes me want to move. Sometimes I just slide onto the floor and do some stretches. I get up and get coffee or other beverages or food, I go outside for a smoke and to sit in the sun for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. On weekends if weather permits, I don't even usually come home. I get all sorts of exercise on those weekends or on day trips if I decide to go home............hiking, climbing, stretching, etc - anything but swimming. I will swim if I find myself in water over my head, but I don't do it on purpose......ever. I'm not that fond of water, but I can swim well when need be.

If someone's gonna put me on a bike, I'm gonna want a motor on it.
