Ever Get Annoyed By People With Similar Ideology As Yours?

I'm not going to get into specifics about ideology which is against the rules here, but I am sometimes very annoyed by people whose opinions are actually similar to mine. When someone has an abrasive and inflexible way of bludgeoning others with an opinion much like mine, my thought is, Hey, stop smearing an outlook by representing it like a leaky outhouse. I'd prefer it if they had another opinion and made the other side look bad instead, if that's how they're going to present it.

This is a topic that I will give serious consideration to, if and when I ever encounter another humanoid that shares similar views to my own on any topic under the sun.

To say that I permanently reside in 'left field' is in itself a singular act of kindness and probably the nicest thing that could be said about me or any of my views.

    Cheers. - Frank

Militants of any ideology make run of the mill "believers" look silly.

I don't get annoyed with other people. But I get annoyed when I waste time thinking one way, and then see something that changes my mind. The waste of time annoys me.

This doesn't annoy me, but I think it's interesting. I get people agreeing with me (on philosophical issues), but for reasons I find silly. And I've seen people agree with me, because I'm the dominant person in the conversation.
It happens a lot with speakers. I'm always more interested in why they think a certain way...the thought process, rather than what they actually believe.

And I have people disagree with me, for reasons I find substantial. I love a good intellectual discussion between two thinking people. Even if I'm not one of them.

I have several friends that share a similar ideology with me. But none of them for the same reasons.

Yeah, about that. It's usually just to get you to shut up.

You'd think that they would figure out that it doesn't work.

A better way to have said that, is that I see people agree with a speaker just because they are the dominant person in the conversation.

Wow, you even reply to your own posts because you don't agree with them. :-)

Do you mean you're annoyed that the time was wasted due to a misconception? I think most people waste huge amounts of time first by harboring misconceptions. The effect of facts to clear away the misconceptions is, in many cases, like the effects of water on rubber -- that is, nothing gets absorbed.

Thanks for asking. I get annoyed, because when I discover I'm wrong about something, that means that several related thoughts...and conclusions based on those thoughts...are likely wrong too.
And sometimes it means that I was wrong because my facts were right, but my conclusions were biased. I hate that, most of all.

It's just a part of learning.

It helps that I'm only interested in a few subjects.

I completely agree with you on that one! It actually happens quite often, way more than it should actually, which even ticks me off more.

I almost want to burst out singing the chorus to Bon Jovi's "You Give Love a Bad Name" except insert (my theology reference) in place of the word love!

P.S. Sal knows exactly what I am talking about as we have discussed it in the past.

OMg. I do! I absolutely do! And I really get annoyed especially if when I am not in the mood. SOmetimes, that person I am talking to would just wonder why I looked pissed off. I don't know. I just don't like it.
